I also think that illegal immigrants are more of a positive than a negative. They make a contribution to the U.S. economy, do jobs Americans won't do, replenish the American spirit with hope and optimism and often raise good kids with a work ethic and strong traditional values that put the native-born to shame. They're not a liability. They're an asset.
If those are Navarette's own words then he is full of it. Doing jobs that Americans won't do? Put the native born to shame? Do his so-called "friends" agree with that?

How about the truth instead of the pro-illegal alien lies? Is that too much to expect? I don't make friends with liars myself. Have you ever heard of the phrase "you are known by the company you keep"?

Well, Ruben isn't exactly stock from farm workers. A lot of these people that claim that they are, aren't.

The word "guys" is a slur too; but good luck trying to get anyone to take you seriously and stop calling you that. Guys is a very demeaning term that means "persons of grotesque appearance."

We checked into a timeshare this past week and were directed over to a desk to get our parking permit. The first words out of the girls mouth were, "How are you guys?" I than said, "I am not a guy." She looked a little puzzled and smiled. I guess people cannot take a hint anymore. She called us guys two more times during the conversation. I glared at her. She still didn't get it. The poor black girl had no idea how offensive she was being to me. I wonder how she would have liked it if I had called her the "N word?" I would probably have been escorted to the door and lost my condo reservation that cost more than $125 per day just for the maintenance. When someone says, "I am not a guy," you don't call that person a guy again unless you are brain dead or totally insensitive and rude.

As for illegals being a slur: Go to where you are legal and no one will call you that.

Have you noticed throughout this post that the black person matters and the Hispanic person matters but the white lady was ignored and treated like a non-person.

Oh, when we checked out at the end of our stay we were going out the door and the white girl that checked us out said, "You guys, have a good trip." The room was beautiful, we had a wonderful stay, but check in and check out was something I could have done without.

One meaning for slur: An insulting remark.

Calling a lady a guy is one of the most insulting things I know that one can do.

Ruben is a stand-up guy, son of a policeman...

Please keep it honest in the forum and don't just tell part of a story to make me or others look bad.
Those are your own words to me by PM. Ruben has a great middle-of-the-road strategy, and although we may not agree on everything, sticking to his principles is notable. Comment directly to him if you dare, it might become some fodder we can share a laugh over.

He's a stand up guy but spouts lies like the ones quoted? You have a funny interpretation of what a stand up guy is. The son of a policeman should have learned to tell the truth.

I have no interest in communicating with reconquista, ethnocentrics like him.

So, my Dad, his Grandfather, and my brother go into a bar. The bartender says "How are you Guys doing?"...

Nevermind, it is a family joke...

Mexicans are MOST of the illegal aliens with many of the rest from LatAm too.

I call a group of females "guys" sometimes, especially if there are dudes in that group.

Recon-what? You've got Ruben mixed up with something else. He's not about that at all.
