The price tag for six county departments to provide services to illegal immigrants was more than $38 million a year, the county Grand Jury found.
Fourteen other unnamed county departments had no idea of their costs for illegal immigrant services. If those departments had provided numbers, the bill would have been substantially higher, the Grand Jury's report stated.
The Grand Jury recommended that the county immediately require all departments to start tracking their costs.
The information should be made available to the public as well as to state and federal lawmakers who would take action to solve the immigration crisis if they knew the true cost of the problem, according to the report released in 2006.
In response, the Board of Supervisors directed all departments to track the costs, but not all of them have been complying, officials said.
County supervisors want to find out what happened.
"The public has a right to know who's receiving the services and whether or not they're entitled to them," said Supervisor Neil Derry. "These are dollars that are being used by people who don't belong here that either could be used to provide services to legal citizens or
returned to them in the form of lower taxes." Supervisor Josie Gonzales also wants to know why some departments have not followed through on the board's direction.
Pretty sure the ax is going to fall given the financil situation in CA. It will hurt like hell for some people but it has to be done...like ripping off a band-aid. Then the state can heal, assuming it can keep from making the same mistakes.

Oh yeah; tick-tock.......Oh how much cleaner and nicer areas will be if we can push them out. Once they stop getting free handouts; they'll leave. It's that simple.
Two years later and the city of San Bernadino is filing for bankruptcy. I wonder why? Could it be because thousands of illegal aliens are milking the system without paying taxes?
Hmmmm

Yep, and San Jose just filed for banktuptcy earlier. Is it just a coincidence that they are home to a large number of illegal aliens? Hmm, is right.

San Diego is going to be close behind it if they can't get social service/pension costs reigned in. I'll tell you what, no way in H&LL is Brown's new tax initiative going to pass so I'm already preparing for an extra month vacation based on the shortened school year.
One thing that improved our schools over night was the elimination of busing from the border to schools North. Next year they are going to reduce it even more. The ESL kids have all but disappeared.
I'm thinking that this may be part of Obama's agenda to bring this country to it's knees. This will have a domino effect, city by city declaring bankruptcy as armies of illegals and their anchor babies migrate from city to city destroying city budgets because of the entitlements that they have been given by government, which impacts budgets.
There is something seriously wrong when cities have to let go/cut salaries of employees that US citizens paid for with their taxes and depend upon - firemen, police, trash, teachers, city hospitals and other government agencies.
YET, our government (in particular, this administration) is still the gift that keeps on giving when it comes illegals. When a city can't accommodate illegals any longer, like gypsies, they will just pack their life up into the back of a pickup and move on to another city. Illegals don't care where they end up or how many times they have to move around, as long as the entitlements are available it's all fine by them.
