It was a dumb idea to start with. Now there are a bunch of illegals driving around the US with these so called "licenses". How many do we think are bogus? The only possible good thing about this is that these people should now have a finger print in a data base.

You can't be serious with that question. Only citizens and those legally in our country should be able to get a driver's license. I am sure the reasons why this legislation hasn't passed wasn't because the majority of New Mexico's citizens want illegals driving on their roads. The devil is in the details, isn't it?
Illegal aliens should never be allowed to get driver's licenses in any state in the US.
I'm with you there. It needs to be harder and harder for illegal aliens to survive here and NOT giving driver's licenses is a step in that direction. Illegals and those who help them need to be hassled every step of the way, as long as it's within the law.

No, no. That implies some form of acceptance and we want them to go home. Also, driving without a license is a greater offense in most states, isn't it? It is definitely better to not give them licenses.
