No, I didn't say anglo culture, Az Bear did. But the fact remains that this country adopted Western European culture and the English language as our identifying ones long ago and still remains intact today.

The fact that those from other cultures also occupy this country and have fought in our wars is irrelevant to what our dominant and identifying culture is.

How embarrassing to Americans to have to defend our culture, we do have a culture..ethnicity is one part. Shame on every one who continues to try and destroy the greatness of America by accepting the pollution of illegal aliens, their non-assimilation, blatant disrespect of our laws and stealing of our resources. Shame on you.

Hindsight being 20/20: we should have taken all of Mexico back in 1848. Can someone say no narco terror BS, lots of places in such an alternative United States of American with excellent climate (no snow/winter crap), an even larger industrial base, far less poverty, etc.

The discussion was not allowing illegals into any culture, the discussion was No one gets to claim "a" culture as more American or America's Culture.

In case you didint know, prior to 1986 Amensty there were Legal hispanics here in the US, Black culture, Asian Culture, Mid Eastren Culture were all here.

I will agree with you that we did adopt a Westren European culture, but we also adopted Religion, Mathematics and Science form the Mid-East. Medicine, Philosphy, Government, Arts all are influenced by Classical Greek and Roman Societies.

We loved the English/Anglo ways so much...We revolted against their briliant ideas of Government.

If we had a English/Anglo culture we would be like Cananda and have a Queen as our Head of state and a Parilment style of legislation.

Instead we have a Bi-racial President elected by the People.

Even American Food culture has come form the New World...Turkey, Tomatos, potatos, corn, were indigenous.

American culture is a polyglot culture - We all have common elements like English (yes, even children of illegals learn English, and in the case of Spanish speaking children of illegals, their Spanish gets Americanisms) and we all have common foods, but we also all have bits of regional and ethnic variations (Portuguese, Jamaican, Chinese, southern US, southwestern US, et al)

We, Americans do have a culture, no matter where it originiated so many years ago, and yes it does shift..the base IS English language, hot dogs and baseball/football in an nutshell, oh, with beer!. America is peppered with many types of integrated cultures as explained MANY times, they are not the majority. We have our Little Italy's, Chinatowns, Little Havana, but the basic is American...using historical rhetoric or posing as "politically correct" does not change that. Regarding your last statement, part of American culture is the varied ethics cultures as a minority--adding to, not predominance thereof.

And, I can still make a comment based on whatever I choose, on topic--read the topic--I'm not always responding to whatever you post, nor do I have to.
