Don't want to give myself away, but my wife does have one uncle who "dabbles" in this stuff. He's a professor. He puts on a big ornate sombrero, lectures on campus (to a mixed-race audience) then leaves.

He has a white wife--lives a very affluent lifestyle, in a very exclusive area, and is frequently "teased" by the family, which he takes in good humor. That's my closest experince with "Aztlan", and I don't see much there to be overly-concerned about---most of these kids will "grow out of it"...

Remember the "Symbionese Liberation Army" back in the 60's? (basically kooky white kids)--and remember how the average white person at the time felt about them? (and about Patty Hearst ?). That's much like the way most Hispanics feel about the "Aztlan" movement....
It certainly does not appear to be only college students. Maybe your family is just sane

Maybe we should start calling the colleges of the Professors and complain to the Dean about their behavior.

Good luck--I think you'll find the "Aztlan" problem about 12th on the list or so, in the dangerous and wacky list of "outrages" going on on today's campuses...can't argue with your sentiments, of course...

Aztlan is really.. really.. disturbing. I mean if you don't see the french saying "Give me my land back" over the Lousiana territory. But of course, the U.S "Bought" the land. Basically said sell it to me with a gun to the head. Those people should learn it is no longer Mexico and if they don't like it-- or the hot dogs and donuts it possess-- get the hell out.

I understand your point.

What happened in the past cannot be undone.

It is as if the government of Mexico is using the 'lost territory' argument to keep the regular Mexicans' eyes away from their real problems-----namely their dysfunctional culture.
