Pandering to Hispanics at a Texas university located minutes from the Mexican border, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi advocated her open-border policy and touted legislation that will give illegal immigrants reduced college tuition and U.S. citizenship.
Although Pelosi’s address at the annual Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology conference was not supposed to be political, the San Francisco Democrat managed to litter her speech with the pro illegal immigrant policies she has worked hard to promote in Congress.
Shortly after taking the podium at the University of Texas Pan-American, a public college in the Rio Grande Valley, Pelosi chastised a plan to build fencing along parts of the U.S.-Mexico border calling it a “terrible idea” that overlooks local communities.
Signed into law last year, the Secure Fence Act requires construction of fencing along the 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border in an effort to curb illegal immigration and drug smuggling. Pelosi believes the communities have a border going through them and don’t need a fence splitting them.
She also promoted her plan to help pass federal legislation (DREAM Act) that will allow illegal immigrants who entered the U.S. before the age of 16 to receive legal status and reduced tuition at the nation’s public colleges. In a full-force effort to pass the law, Democrats have actually attached the DREAM Act to a defense bill pending in the Senate.

I was afraid this was what she was about. She was in Arizona last year speaking at one of our Universities and she was very pro-illegal. She spoke against our passed proposition to make illegal aliens pay out of state tuition fees if they want to attend Arizona Universities and of course FOR the Dream Act. I guess she believes people coming here illegally deserve special treatment over citizens from out of state. Just another example of pandering to illegals at the expense of citizens.

She is raising the point that people who ACTUALLY live along the border region resent the policies of the INLANDERS who do not know anything about the border region and build the fence. Apparently the inlanders don't know that there are also communities across the border that make up one city.
Why don't we divide Kansas City or the Quad Cities for the sake of State security. How about putting border crossings in Cincinnati to discourage people living in Kentucky and Indiana and commuting to downtown to work? This should salivate the State of Ohio and increase it's tax base. Cincinnati may not survive but Dayton might boom since the border doesn't strangle it's growth.

Kansas will become a border state sooner than you think because it is a "sanctuary" state for illegal immigrants.
