Health Care and Illegals
I think there are many more liberals then are publically acknowledged who are against illegals.
Look at this article.
New York, a sanctuary city, a liberal stronghold, and not wanting to spend public money on health care for illegals. All throughout the article you see comments saying politicians don't want to touch that issue.
California is certainly fed up with them.
Hospitals are forced to treat them through their emergency facilities and because of that hospitals very much needed in poor neighborhoods have been forced to close in California and Texas and throughout the south.

“I was told in Washington that they understand that this is a problem, but immigration is just too hot to touch,” she said.
Mark Krikorian, the executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington, said:
the answer lay in enforcing laws, so that illegal immigrants leave the country, not in extending health coverage.

Sadly, this will likely result in more hospital closures due to the overwhelming number of illegal aliens receiving treated without being required to pay. Or, hospitals will be forced to charge citizens more to cover the costs. Either way, it will be another unnecessary burden resulting from the refusal of our government to enforce our laws. As long as we continue to accommodate illegals, we will continue to pay dearly. Yet, all who oppose this abuse are called racists, xenophobes, nativists, and inhumane. It's total insanity.

But the estimated 11 million people now living illegally in the United States are not covered by the health care law. Its sponsors, seeking to sidestep the contentious debate over immigration, excluded them from the law’s benefits.

The above is not true. In spite of the program being Federal, Obama carefully omitted language in the law, which is required for Federal programs (although apparently ignored, either by order or by choice) regarding legal residency/citizenship as a requirement, and left a loophole for illegals to continue on the gravy train.

While Barack Obama insists that the idea that ObamaCare will cover illegal immigrants is a “myth,” the CRS points out that the bill does nothing to prevent it. Since HR3200 doesn’t require people to establish citizenship or legal residency before applying to exchanges for health insurance, including the public option, taxpayer money will certainly flow to illegal immigrants:

The article refers to Lutheran Medical Center as one of the hospital that is hurting. That hospital is in Brooklyn and in the heart of the Mexican illegal community. The hospital also borders on a large Egyptian community where illegals live. It's a damn shame because that was known as one of the better hospitals with the best equipment before the area went downhill.

Many hospitals have been forced to close due to illegal immigration. Grady Memorial in Atlanta had served the indigent community for over 100 years, but had to close its kidney dialysis clinic due to being overwhelmed by illegal aliens. I have no idea where the poor legal residents of Atlanta must now go to seek treatment. Of course, illegals won't have a problem. They just relocate to other areas where they can continue to suck off the system. Most citizens, particularly the poor, don't have that luxury. To add insult to injury, illegals sued the hospital for daring to deny them "free" treatment. Talk about gall.
