Do you really think we should shred our safety nets, call Americans nasty names and applaud a woman who trespassed onto another business and completely ignored food safety regulations? Damn her for believing that all our laws are hers to break at will. And damn morons like Ruben who believe that racism is demanding such people finally move out.

The real issue, that we need to be concerned with, is the absolute lack of clarity, and unbiased reporting in American news...that is the most important issue to be examined, in light of any commentary regarding illegal aliens in the United States, the "Pro Illegal" movement, from entities, pandering for Latino consumers...because as we know, from the most recent census, Latin culture, is a dominant part of our cultural landscape. Which is fine...the issue though, is that news reporting, is now slanted to appeal to that population of consumers...and thus, make money from advertisers, targeting this market. So...we are now going to get more and more "Tabloid" style reporting, that is completely devoid of facts, and written to appeal to the "target" audience. Forget journalism...embrace free market news, that is sensational, and emotional...not written with any type of logic...just as long as it sells...and creates the sob stories, for these poor illegals, being "persecuted" by law enforcement...for--gasp---breaking the law!!!

Some of you amaze me that you think any law that doesn't involve bloodshed is "unjust".

A real Amerian would have to have a business license, permit, and pay taxes. They'd also have to have the proper setup, along with health department inspections, for making the tamales, and the proper equipment for maintaing the correct temperature. Then they would need permission from Walmart to sell in their parking lot.

This thread is a sob story. One of privileged snotty adults who had no problem importing a subclass of labor to keep their grapes cheap, but once they aspire for upward mobility and mean to become full members of this nation, that's the time to run them out on a rail with accusations of theft. Fact: you stole from them they day you found that bargain on grapes and didn't question how it could be possible. Old black Joe picking your cotton, dear. So were Asian slaves in the Marianna Islands.

I note in all the sob stories of anti immigration camp sibling rivalry excuses that justify their abusive behavior. All in their minds, of course. It's an excuse. It's permission the give themselves, the license to deny they had a hand in anything negative or neglectful that's been going on for most of the last century.

Jasper, if you've made a career out of dodging responsibility for your country, your state, your community... you are the problem. Not immigrants. Not the gubbermint you've emasculated by handing authority over them to corporations.

As soon as I saw it was a CNN link I knew it had to be more garbage spewing from Navarette.

It's amazing that you can be so blinded by ethnic loyalty that the issue at hand escapes you. Had this woman been a citizen or legal immigrant I would feel the same. We have health laws requiring the licensing of food handlers and operators of food carts. This is for the protection of consumers. Yet, simply because you share her ethnicity, you believe she should be above the law. If someone becomes ill from unsanitary conditions, or contracts a disease, so be it. Right? As long as the culprit is an illegal alien, we should not complain, otherwise we are mean-spirited bigots. Her unlawful, and potentially harmful behavior, deserves condemnation, not praise.

Furthermore, I have two friends who are unemployed Americans. And, contrary to your hateful and biased opinion, they are not begging for money, playing video games, or even collecting unemployment. They are now independent contractors, who are traveling across this country, accepting any available assignment to support their families. I am so sick and tired of pro-illegals denigrating law-abiding citizens in their pathetic defense of lawless illegal aliens. Even more disturbing, is the placement of illegals on a sacred pedestal. It's beyond shameful, and it needs to stop.

This post is not accurate. Only three percent of all illegals work in agriculture.

No one should be allowed to be full member of our society if they refuse to conform to our basic laws. This woman wasn't out picking grapes. She would be able to come legally if she had. But then again she'd probably, like Cesar Chavez, be very anti-illegals as all importing more workers would do is lower her wages. This woman was brazenly trespassing and selling food that could potentially endanger the people who ate it. She came here voluntarily, has resided here voluntarily for twenty years breaking multiple American laws in the process and continues to assert her "right" to do exactly as she pleases including potentially poison those eating her food.

She's not an immigrant. She's not a slave. She's not being neglected. She's an illegal. She's not being abused when we ask her to obey our laws and return home to the world's second fattest nation. In the meantime her prescence here serves to prop up Mexico dictators, push down wages, increase taxes on our middle class and create burdens for our own kids who must cope with resources diverted to educate hers.

In short she's a huge part of the problem.

So I guess if we oppose illegal immigration and want those laws upheld we aren't patriots? We want businesses to operate within our laws but we are the bad guys? Our immigration laws are unjust? Your reply was very mild compared to what I would have said to someone who would make such hateful statements about law abiding Americans but I do know the rules in here.

Your contempt and stereotypiing of unemployed Americans is beyond belief. Most unemployed Americans are not begging on the streets or home playing video games. Are you suggesting that anyone should operate outside the law to support their kids including having an unlawful business? I am sure her kids are receiving all kinds of government handouts anyway. So I don't buy the excuse that whe was just trying to support her kids. It is no excuse anyway.
