The specifics in the plan to start to deal with the issue are presented. Some people may read it and those opposed, well, will just continue to talk about the issue.

The costs of processing and investigating them won't even begin to be covered by the measely $465.00 they will be obligated to pay to go through the process. I also note that one of the qualifying factors that could be used is to have been honorably discharged from the military. Huh? Illegal immigrants can't join our military.

If an illegal immigrant agrees to go into the military, their illegal status is deferred, not eliminated. Being honorably discharged would allow them to qualify for legal status and, if they choose, go thru the process of being naturalized. They could also opt to work visas and green cards if they want to stay in the US and continue to contribute to our Country. What is so hard for some people to understand?

Unless I am reading it wrong (and I don't think I am) joining the military and being honorably discharged is one of the pre-qualifications to become eligible under this program. That means those already in the military prior to this process would qualify. How are they already in the military under illegal status prior to this policy being impemented? Perhaps it is you that doesn't understand.

Here is another little tidbit that I found in the article:

"Officials also said that “brief, casual, and innocent” absences from the United States would not be counted against residency requirements".

Isn't leaving the country while being in illegal status and returning illegally again a felony offense? Yet they are going to forgive that?

They're saying summer vacations back "home" don't count.
And it's done. The joke of "border control"...when an illegal can go home for vacation and come back.
Live in a border state and you hear stories. And I'm up near Austin which is not even close to the border so I can only imagine how bad it is down near Brownsville.

Not much specific in that plan.

All the illegal has to do is claim to have come here illegally by a certain date, claim to be of a certain age and for a mere $465, they're in. What about the felony crime of identification theft and felony document fraud? You can bet those felony crimes don't count and just as anyone would have suspected, it's perfectly fine to have driven without a license and liability insurance.

Nothing about paying all back taxes owed, or not having mooched off welfare programs like Medicaid and food stamps. Nothing about actually having to find a job by a certain date or face deportation. And the worst -- there won't be any deportations of those who fail to meet even these "standards".

Now that they will have the addresses of the illegals who were brought here against their will by their parents, can't the administration at least promise to deport the family members that don't meet these "standards".

Yes -- they wouldn't want to disallow the drug runners and those working for the smuggling rings.

Ironic isn't -- first these illegals claimed they forgot everyone they used to know back home, even forgot all their Spanish so deporting them would be horrible -- but it turns out many of the about to be amnestied have been returning home to visit all their loved ones, going home for vacations and whatever else so that can't be counted against them.

There will be plenty of other felonies that won't count. And some very significant tax evasion is allowed. No proof of tax payments required. Nor is there any requirement that the illegals have to have made any effort to learn English or have any job skills.

It's blanket amnesty for everyone and work permits for those 30 and under.
We only need ICE for hardened illegal criminals.
DHS has been very active in loosening the laws.

And Congress has been silent. This is a hot potato that no one will touch.
