I think we tend to think "1986" when amnesty is mentioned, where 2.7 million illegals were granted amnesty. Well, think again:

Quote:
Since the passing of the Immigration and Reform Control Act (IRCA) [1986], 6 million illegal aliens have received amnesty in the United States. The IRCA Amnesty was supposed to "wipe the slate clean" and instead it's lead to the current situation of 12-20 million illegal aliens living in the country

If you read some of the sections highlighted in blue to the left, although this report goes back to 2009, much of the info applies to this day, although it's safe to assume that numbers (people and dollars) have risen.

One section addresses tax payer burden (one more untruth I'm sure based on Professor DK's claim how the US benefits from the contributions that illegals make):

Obama is making it almost impossible for them to come here illegally.

All they need to do is pay $149 to get a border crossing card that lasts 10 years and they can come over any time they please -- walk, drive, ride a bus over.

If you want to see one of the biggest-flat-lies the government has ever told -- here it is:

If the limit is extended to 55 miles, Mexican nationals meeting the requirements for legal entry into the United States would be able to travel to metropolitan areas in New Mexico, such as the city of Las Cruces or the smaller town of Deming, and other destinations, without having to leave their vehicle, wait in line to undergo the additional I-94 application process at secondary inspection, and pay the fee.

There is NO secondary border station before Las Cruces. The secondary border station -- that is a border station situated well inside the USA is many miles north of Las Cruces.

I disagree completely. I would not be surprised if the next 'mini-amnesty' were offered under the follwing terms.
1) ONLY people with black hair (because we can't include everyone, this isn't a general amnesty after all)
Included with the sign up forms will be included a coupon for a FREE box of hair dye , your choice of color!

It angers me to no end as a citizen that we are seemingly considered a non-issue but our tax dollars aren't. We get to pay the taxes, but the goverment has decided we don't deserve a voice in how it's being used. Dream Act failed, but Obama has bypassed the will of the US citizens.

Indeed he has, and it will cost taxpayers BILLIONS. Unfortunately, far too many are his blind followers. It's so bad, I believe if he told them it would help him if they jumped off a bridge, they would do so without batting an eye. It's almost like a strange form of mass hypnosis.

How many amnesties will it take before people open their eyes and realize what's happening? We can't support the entire world.

Nothing wrong with that, mexico does the same thing for us, you pay a fee and you have a tourist visa for 6 months.
