Public assistance is not a life style. What I'm "grasping" from you is that solving our national debt means more money available for public assistance, especially to people who do not qualify for it by the mere fact that they are not legally in the country. People who apply for legal status and have a green card, or are waiting for citizenship conditionally are not entitled to any public assistance of any kind, yet people who don't belong in this country get it freely, and more.

You should educate yourself on federal funding to states, state and city budgets (relient on taxes), how the money is allocated and what is required to balance a budget. Clearly you don't have a clue as to why a city would declare bankruptcy.

If you max out your credit cards, especially to survive to buy food, paying rent, that is debt.

If you have no income, no savings, can't pay the rent, rely on government to support you (rent, food stamps, medical), how are you not broke?

Can't wait to see how that works out for those employers who already have illegals on the payroll and are screwing them with salary and benefits. Those employers better get ready to hear "I'm going to sue you for discrimination".

It will be easy enough for them to last 6 months to qualify for tax free unemployment and then collect it for however long the time is now (over a year?). This will help to supplement their welfare benefits under their other SS #.

Of course those 25 to 30 year old "kids" today who crossed over the border when they were 20/25 year old "kids" five years ago, weren't responsible for their actions.

Default Jan Brewer is regression at its worse

Poor Jan Brewer, the finger-waving wicked witch of the west. She's fighting a losing battle against father time and the progression of the society away from her bigoted, racially divisive ideal. What a Repulsive figure. Her version of America last existed during slavery times.

Yes, she has put AZ on the map, but NOT for a good reason.

Whom is she bigoted against? She enacted laws to deter illegal immigration in her state. Is that the new definition of bigotry these days?

I'd like to know too; who IS Brewer bigoted against? If saying being AGAINST illegal immigration is being a bigot; then I'm really HAPPY to carry that label. LOL

You seem to think Deferred Action is some type of legal status, it is not. Federal Law prohibits illegals from obtaining certain privileges and federal aid. PEW is attempting to claim, along with every other illegal support group, that illegals can now obtain drivers licenses and many other benefits due to being "legal", except they are not in a legal status. Brewer simply put in place what is already federal law as a State EO. Illegals should not expect to get more than a simple work visa out of this deal, no state issued DL, no state aid, no federal aid, etc.

Your Chicano poetry is a matter of opinion, one that is only popular among illegals and their supporters, not the majority of citizens of the USA.

Bigoted, and racially divisive? Get real. How on earth does the denial of privileges reserved for citizens and legal immigrants constitute bigotry or racism? Obama's decree did not change state laws. In fact, DACA specifically ignores state laws for felony immigration convictions. In other words, illegals convicted at the state level, may still qualify for amnesty. They can't have it both ways. They can't ignore state laws, and then expect states to recognize DACA when it is in direct contravention of their established laws.

If anyone is racially divisive, it is the demagogue Obama, with his shameful demonization of all who dare oppose illegal immigration. He and his henchmen have manufactured a racial "immigration" issue where none existed. Prior to their race card campaign, this country had made significant strides in race relations. Yes, more work was needed, but it was certainly an improvement. Now, all of the hard-fought battles have been squandered for the sake of the Hispanic vote. It's sickening. How anyone can condone this, is beyond me.

To add insult to injury, taxpayers will primarily foot the bill for his amnesty gift, while he purports to lower taxes for the middle-class. What a joke!
