I am curious to know how this woman who came here at 16 could afford that trip to the U.S. that was referred to as expensive. The link also speaks of 11,000 immigrant children in custody. Is she one of them? If so, I don't consider a 21 year old to be a child. If the 11,000 are double from the prior year does that mean more are coming every year instead of the claims that illegal immigration into our country is down in numbers? If the area she lived in in El Salvador was so dangerous then why didn't her family move to a safer area in their country? I am sure the entire country wasn't like what she described. Why did she decide that the U.S. had to be her destination? Nothing was mentioned about her having relatives here. Why not another Latino country instead where they speak her native language and are just as safe as the U.S.? The article puts forth many answered questions.

I am also curious to know why? Its mind boggling why she up & left to another country when she could have used that money to move to a nicer part of the country? Instead of making us feel sorry for her problems.

Or she could have made any of the Latin American countries north of El Salvador her new home instead of coming all the way up to the U.S. Maybe she heard of Obama's promise of an amnesty four years ago when he first took office and then ventured out to the U.S. If so, that is living proof that amnesties just encourage more illegal immigration.

Yes, she could. But, they all bypass other countries, despite the fact they speak the same language and share the same culture. Unlike the US, they know those countries won't force their taxpayers to support them. The word is out.

It's interesting, they always claim to be starving and destitute, and are coming here to seek a better life. Yet, they somehow manage to have enough money to travel across multiple countries, and pay coyotes thousands of dollars to escort them across the border into the US. They don't call the U.S. "Uncle Sucker" for nothing.

Now that Obama has rolled out the red carpet, we can expect even more, as planned.

The U.S is the only country that tolerates this crap from illegals.
