The last time I checked, it is very possible to work without having a driver's license, unless the job involves driving a truck, etc. In fact, I see people on a daily basis riding Metro, (bus/subway) in the DC area to commute to and from work, including many car owners. It's just more convenient and less of a hassle. Who wants to sit in traffic for hours when they can catch a train and avoid the congestion?

So, yes, it does make sense for most citizens to oppose driver's licenses for illegal aliens. But, this is nothing new. Most have opposed this each time a state proposed issuing DLs to illegals, and you know it. Plus, the last thing we need is to give illegal aliens access to voter registration forms.

Or, are you suggesting illegals are so special that they, unlike others, are too good to take public transportation? They should be thankful they aren't being deported, rather than whining about getting a driver's license. Ingrates.

That's precisely why I don't believe that 73% of Americans support giving illegal immigrants work permits. Glad you can also see the flaws in this poll and why none of it is believable.

Point out we have a recession with twenty-three million Americans who are unemployed and then ask again. We don't want people who openly break our laws to drive on our roads. How is it sensible to give licenses (and ultimately American ID's) to foreigners who have shown no inclination to respect this county's sovreignty?

The only hardliners are those ethnic lobbyists who insist that we should do what is economically good for their raza instead of what is right or good for the American people.

Work permits for two years only? Right. Then Driver Licenses for only two years? Sure. Taxpayer-funded assistance? Forever! It's the proverbial camel sticking his head in the tent. What next?? Not much left...

Don't forget, many will give birth just to seal the deal. After all, Obama has promised not to separate families, especially when it involves the parents of anchors.

As if they aren't doing it already! They'll just proliferate even more, then they'll get welfare while attending school to take care of their little ones. A whole new generation. Ugh.
