Los Angeles officials are considering a plan to turn the library card into a form of identification that the city's large illegal immigrant population could use to open bank accounts and access an array of city services.

That's right; make it as easy as possible for illegals to remain in this country in violation of our laws. They and other sanctuary areas can brazenly violate Federal Law without one word of opposition from Obama or Holder. Yet, the mere mention of a policy to actually enforce the law is met with swift threats of lawsuits. If this isn't blatant aiding, abetting and encouraging, please tell me what is.

Conspiracy/Aiding or Abetting -- Subsection 1324(a)(1)(A)(v) expressly makes it an offense to engage in a conspiracy to commit or aid or abet the commission of the foregoing offenses.

Moreover, if the violation results in the death of any person, the defendant may be punished by death or by imprisonment for any term of years.

CA is a sanctuary state so this should not be a surprise.

But this may come back to bite them. As other states lock down services to illegals, these illegals just may move to CA where the grass is greener.
There may be hope for Texas yet with these forgiving CA laws coming into effect

It seems they never want to stem the flow of people of entering this country illegally. Its sickening.
Its a slow path towards a never ending flow of illegals gaining citizenship, by giving them small amounts of documentation at a time.

Once this is in place who is going to stop & reverse it?

I hope the last American in that city leave & take the flag with them.

When will the law-abiding Californians take a stand? How long will they continue to allow the pandering officials to relinquish their state to foreign invaders? Eventually, there will be more illegals in CA than citizens. It's insane.

this is pure B.S.

guess what's going to happen next.

they're going to raise our taxes.

they're going to create a city tax to pay for all these extra "services" for people who shouldn't be here.

un flipping believable.

Of course not. Inevitably, it's a vote for them. Why should they send away a future vote? The politicians live in a different world than the typical citizen. They don't have to put up with all this sh*t.

It's horrible the way that Los Angeles has become such a lawless dump. Of course, there's a private lender who no doubt wined and dined Councilman Alarcon and other council members to get that piece of business. The payday vendors better beef up their contributions to the council people or else they'll be out of business. I can just imagine the City paying for radio/TV advertising to urge the illegals to apply for this just like they do for the Cal-fresh (food stamps) program. They really have no sense of shame.

I hope that John & Ken go after this.

Since when has any State of our Union retained its former States' right over immigration, since 1808? Immigration, illegal or otherwise is not a State problem, but a federal obligation.

It's just unbelievable to me that the city thinks illegals are entitled to anything here.
