TUCSON, Ariz. - The U.S. government has halted flights home for Mexicans caught entering the country illegally in the deadly summer heat of Arizona's deserts, a money-saving move that ends a seven-year experiment that cost taxpayers nearly $100 million.
After $100 million, U.S. halts policy of flying illegal immigrants home - ContraCostaTimes.com

If the government would simply enforce our laws, stop accommodating illegals, and end birthright citizenship for their children, they would have no reason to come. The money squandered due to illegal immigration is sickening. And, this $100M is just a tiny drop in the bucket.

Agreed. Illegal immigration is literally bankrupting this country one state at a time.

The policy now is to just let them stay and work here even if they're here illegally. No amount of unemployment of Americans is too high. Just let anyone come and do as they please. And as usual, it's Mexico's government that dictates our policies.

A bit of irony:

The pilot program was partly a response to complaints from Mexican border cities that too many deportees were being dumped on their streets and contributing to crime and unemployment.

Mexico complains about illegals contributing to crime and unemployment????? I guess it's only "racist" if Americans complain.

Not to mention that it is their own citizens that they are complaining about coming back to their own homeland. What in the world?

I know, right?

And who says we have to fly them? There are other methods of transportation...buses leap to mind. And who cares if the border towns don't like it? They can complain to THEIR government down in the DF.

I am rather surprise they quote it as money saving, when its far more expensive keeping illegals here.
I love how they use phony excuses to not deport illegals.

How about buses for the ones who can be bused, planes for the ones who can't, and bill the illegals' governments for the expense?

Yep, it takes a lot of nerve. They don't want their own citizens, yet expect us to embrace them, and when we don't, cry racism. It's even more pathetic that some of our citizens don't have enough sense to realize Mexico is using us as a dumping ground.

The excuses for keeping illegal immigrants here just keep getting more and more creative by this administration. First it was deferred deportations because we supposedly lack the resources to deport any illegal immigrants who aren't felons. Now we have to retain them because it is too expensive to transport them back home. If our government would just weigh the costs of keeping them here vs deporting them they would find that the latter is much less expensive.
