Some campuses in Los Angeles Unified School District battled backlogs of 200 to 300 applicants, prompting administrators to create an online form this month that funnels applications to a central location, said Lydia Ramos, a special assistant to the superintendent. The district, which put workers on overtime to catch up, anticipates spending about $200,000 on the requests, including $15,000 for postage.

San Diego Unified School District set up a temporary office and anticipates spending $45,000 on the effort through Dec. 14, said Linda Zintz, communications director.
Immigrant requests strain consulates, schools

This is just two school districts out of thousands across this country. At a time when most school districts are suffering from budget deficits created by illegal immigration, they must now compound the problem to accommodate illegal aliens applying for DACA. This is absolute insanity.

Schools and consulates have been flooded with requests for documents after President Barack Obama announced a new program allowing young people living in the country illegally to apply for two-year renewable work permits. Up to 1.7 million people may qualify, which would be the broadest stroke to bring illegal immigrants out of the shadows in more than 25 years. Applicants – some eager to get in line before November's presidential elections – are finding they may have to wait a few weeks longer for a prize that has eluded them for years.
1.7 million illegal aliens may qualify for work permits. Requests For Records For Deferred Action Applications Strain Consulates, Schools?

It's enough to make me start the process to get a Canadian visa.

Obviously the people in charge of the US don't care about it, why should I? It's so frustrating.

Cheap labor and a pretty solid one-party voting bloc.

It's not really out of any special love of a foreign people over Americans. It's the cheap labor they crave, the docile submissive work force, but also these people were dependable back home for the PRI party.

Also you can bet that the Mexican government made some threats against Obama over Fast and Furious -- it most definitely does not want it's people ever returned home, it wants them gone permanently and Obama had some silence to buy.

Wouldn't you have bigger issues there? Canada is far more liberal than the U.S., or is the illegal immigration issue the only thing that bothers you about the liberal side?
