Medical experts brought in by the state testified that no 21-month-old could have put that much paper towel down his own throat, that his gag reflex would have stopped him. The only possible culprit, they said, was Ms. Jimenez, who, they surmised, must have grown frustrated with his crying. The jury agreed. She was convicted of murder and sentenced to 99 years in prison. She is eligible for parole in 2033.
******** Because Ms. Jimenez is here illegally, her mother, who sells tamales back home in Ecatepec, a suburb of Mexico City, has been denied a visa to visit her in prison. But Ms. Jimenez does have support. Consular officials visit, as do her children. Ms. Gutierrez, who has a 4-year-old daughter now, still lives in Austin with her brother, Cerafin Gutierrez, who was like a surrogate father to Bryan. They both work long hours and pay their taxes. They speak excellent English. They consider themselves Americans.
I don't care what they consider themselves as. They are NOT Americans. It's way past time for the US to stop sending aid to Mexico and every other country that has hordes of illegal aliens in this country. Additionally, we need to start charging for their trials, legal fees and deportation costs.
So I guess legal aid and cheap lawyers (some who want to make a name for themselves) aren't good enough for illegals, but are good enough for citizens? By the mere fact that one is illegal and can't afford a high power attorney is injustice? Give me a break. She's nothing but a baby killer.
Illegals want to consider themselves to be "just like an American" and citizens have the right to consider illegals what we know them to be - illegal immigrants.
Jimenez is an illegal alien. She needs to shut up and leave the US or she might NOT like what happens when the Texas courts decide to play hard.
I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. Texas is bewilderingly soft when it comes to illegals.
