I just got thru sending a couple emails to the lovely Brown, who is in no way the one that should be Governing this State. Stupid people from here. Californians you never learn your lesson do you.
A clown once always a clown, naive once, naive a second go round. You people deserve what Brown is dishing out, if you were stupid enough to vote the clown in.
Nope. They are not "illegal". They are not "lawful" either as the law makes no provision to grant them permanent status. But they are legal. And they can get work permits. That is a fully legal status.
Very similar to those who fled persecution or the Haitians escaping the disaster there. Not lawful but legal. And generally with a time frame when they are supposed to leave..
Practically if they stay and can work or go to school they need a drivers license.
They are still considered illegal aliens (they are not considered fully legal status), some have been granted deferred action, meaning they can be deported if they screw up an are caught by the LE, otherwise they will not be placed into deportation removal hearings by ICE (until there is a policy change). Granting work authorization by no means grants "legality", it only authorizes work, and all of this is provided they are granted deferred action and work authorization. Considering over 100K have submitted the applications and only 29 have been granted deferred action (there is no tally on of the 29 that also received work authorization) it's not looking so good for them.

We certainly agree they are aliens. Kindly cite the law or regulation that declares them "illegal".
Any alien can be deported for most anything as a practical matter. The only one "safe" would be those where the home country won't or is not allowed to take them back.

Sorry, but they remain illegal aliens. The opposite of lawful status is unlawful/illegal status. Obama does not have the authority to change their status from illegal to legal, which is why he threw them this bone. Furthermore, non-citizens don't need "permanent" status to be lawfully present. There are millions of foreigners here on temporary work, school and tourist visas. They do not have permanent status, but they do have lawful status.
I know countless people who commute by public transportation to both work and school. In fact, they consider it more convenient. Is there a particular reason illegal aliens can't do the same?

Cite a law declaring them illegal? WTF
Deferred Action does not grant any form of legality, it only places them very low on the deportation list, basically ICE will overlook them for now. Work authorization only allows them to work in the US, it grants no "legal status".

According to USCIS, as well as other federal agencies, they are "illegal" aliens. When were they granted legal status? Please share your source.

I don't know why this is so difficult for some to comprehend.
