"The newly repatriated, often with no means to return home, are susceptible to becoming part of criminal organizations as a means of survival," Gustavo Mohar, Mexico's interior undersecretary for population, migration and religious affairs, said in a statement released by ICE.

........said the flights will include Mexicans with criminal convictions in the United States and those who don't have any.
It was good enough for the US, but not good enough for the "newly repatriated"? Didn't Obama say that the worst criminals were going to be deported first??

I'd just be easier to take the Mexican illegal aliens to Tijuana and tell them to just walk across the border and they'd be home.

Guatemalans, Irish and so on here illegally; they'd have to fly or go home on a ship.

They commonly do, for the northern states of Mexico, and prior to this program, Mexicans that didn't have multiple entries. There are Wackenhut buses under contract traveling south every night. Repeat violators were flown to Mexico City in the past, this program is just increasing the numbers flown instead of repatriating at the border.

Because Obama is only having violent criminals deported and Mexico has complained about these violent criminals making it's border towns like Tijuana and Juarez unsafe. Mexico wants us to take them close to where they are from hoping that by having family and friends to take them in, they won't commit as much violence.

They probably want a non-stop trip, which they couldn't do to the interior of Mexico. It's better than trying to keep track of a bunch of people taking a restroom break, and making sure they get back on the bus.

There are still deportations taking place at the border: Those originally from the northern Mexican states. The program is to put Mexicans back home, away from the border region where they will attempt to cross again, or get pulled into the criminal enterprises of the cartels. The testing phase is almost complete, hopefully it will have the intended effect if it is continued.

I wouldn't count turning away Mexicans or other people attempting to enter illegally at the border as deportations. Even Obama admitted that they were part of the count in his deporatation numbers and can't be counted that way. Am I glad that many are being caught at the border before entry, heck yes.

They aren't just "turned away": Any illegal aliens caught are processed to get fingerprints and pictures, so it can be determined if they have been caught before. I thought you had said only illegal aliens with felonies were being deported, it has to hinge on your opinion of where they were caught?
