Well the last sentence of the article explains it. He wanted a free trip to Mexico - and he got it - and he got a free trip to Honduras and Guatemala also:

He says he figured he would take a free trip to Mexico.

I'm pretty sure when border agents questioned me, if I had told them I was a Mexican citizen, I could have been deported -- why is this guy's lies somehow special?

Anyhow he's got a long history of crime including sexual assault --- we should have left him deported.

Guess so. Just more discrimination of those whom they think are of Mexican ancestry. When will it ever end?
