Apparently the Bush administration has run into a problem with their plan to penalize companies who hire illegal, or undocumented, workers:

AR]washingtonpost.com[/url]A federal judge barred the Bush administration today from launching a planned crackdown on U.S. firms that hire illegal immigrants, warning of the plan's potentially "staggering" impact on law-abiding workers and companies.

Issuing a firm rebuke of the White House, U.S. District Judge Charles R. Breyer of San Francisco granted a preliminary injunction against the government's plan to pressure employers to fire up to 8.7 million workers with suspect Social Security numbers starting this fall.

I will bet money the judge is a RABID LIBERAL!

He is in San Francisco... case closed. He is a left-wing extremist. No other SANE person would bar a law that PROTECTS poor US Citizens... only in San Francisco or Boulder, or Madison or Boston!

No, American Business is favored over American people. Not to mention this whole immigration thing is one big joke. One minute the government is "cracking down", the next minute Bush is trying to intervene in an execution of an illegal immigrant, then you have Texas Mayors refusing access to land for purposes of surveying for the new border fence, I mean it almost reminds me of the war on drugs Yeah we'll bust one ship carrying 50 kilos, spread it all over the news make the American people think we're really cracking down, meanwhile, 10 other ships are allowed to enter It's all just B.S.

Our government wants to keep the illegals here. Every single individual sitting in Congress is BOUGHT & PAID FOR by some Corporation benefiting from illegal immigration. As a result their profits are higher, which allows them to spend more in campaign contributions/kick backs/perks, etc. The real truth is, if they ship all the illegals back to Mexico - Big Business is going to have to pay American citizens a FAIR salary (no pimping here) which means less profit to feed their greed which would ultimately result in less campaign donations to those idiots.

I mean gimme a break American corporations will still make money, but GOD FORBID, if it's $1mill shy of what they were making previous with the illegals.

What else would you expect from the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court. Thatís the same court that halted prop 187 that passed by over 66%.

Since when is it a judge's job to dictate financial impact of a law?

The way Bush walks both sides of the fence on this issue, it wouldn't surprise me if Bush not only knew this was going to happen, but pursued these policies knowing and wanting it to happen.
