That's true. It's one of a few jobs in the world that you can be "fired" or choose to resign and not be penalized in any way. Even the worst POTUS in history gets to retire in peace, with a lifetime of Secret Service protection and a big fat pension.

Depends what you call "peace", Secret Service protection is no longer for a "lifetime" (After Clinton, the rules were changed to 10 years after leaving office), and $191,300 per year isn't all that "fat" (it is matched to the current salary of Cabinet members)...
