Obama has given them work permits and SS cards through DACA. Now, they'll be competing against our children who can't find jobs after graduating from college. Makes perfect sense.

I signed petition and donated but the people who got the petition did little advertising. They assumed folks would vote against it once they read it at the ballot box. Um ok conversely supporters were at my polling location passing out stickers and telling people how to vote.

Obama is going to do an amnesty anyway so this will all become moot.

The thing to remember is that he cannot pass a blanket amnesty on his own. I feel there are still enough members of congress that will oppose it.

There won't be any amnesty: way too many people will crash the switchboard again.

You can moan and groan and complain all you want but the dream act has passed in Maryland. There's nothing more to debate. I'm proud of the people that voted not only for this but also for gay marriage. It shows true compassion....a trait that is lacking in some.

I'm not sure Obama really can -- right now he's gloating, his supporters are gloating, La Raza is gloating.

The shine of this election - where Obama got 10 million fewer votes than he did in 2008 (Romney got 3 million fewer votes than did McCain) will begin wearing off. Obama may have won the new hispanic vote -- but he lost a significant number of American votes.

They're going to have to get to work on the budget -- and that's going to have to be ahead of Obama's big amnesty.

There will be a push to get the deficit down, to cut spending. Obama of course doesn't want to cut spending but he's telling the cameras there needs to be compromise.

Obama is also going to face pressure on unemployment of Americans -- whether he cares about Americans or not. 24 million unemployed Americans -- all promised jobs. There may be some pressure on Obama to get those Americans their jobs before he rewards all those illegally here with a big amnesty -- and of course the good jobs that Americans will do and that pay better - which is one reason they're demanding amnesty.

Compassion? Where's the compassion for Americans in regards to the illegal immigration issue? Yes, that trait is lacking in those who put illegal foreigners above compassion for the citizens of this country. Thanks for pointing that out.

I don't have compassion for illegal aliens; they just need to be sent HOME.

Why should compassion be inclusive to just US citizens. We should have compassion for everyone regardless of where they were born. You act like they are aliens from another planet instead of our fellow man lol

In this case we can't have compassion similutamiously for illegal immigrants and our own citizens. Their presence here is negatively impacting our own. So we have to choose. Besides why would anyone have compassion for lawbreakers who violated our immigration laws? Did these illegal immigrants show any compassion for us by taking our jobs and resources and violating our laws?
