1st. the Republican party is not anti immigrant. Its against illegal immigration, & for legal immigration

2. Why legalize law breakers & then strengthen social security standards? This does nothing. They will still find a way to work.

3. Why strengthen the border after rewarding illegals? Makes no sense?

4. Learn English??? Schummer is a joke. How about a national get rid of press 1 for English & making English the official language?

5.What about anchor babies? What law will they implement? How about re clarification of the 14th amendment.

I guess even some in the Republican party are confused or have bought into the PC, incorrect language. Who's anti-immigrant? The subject/issue is illegal immigration not immigrants.

I think these clowns had better drop the illegals for now and get to work on that fiscal cliff we're about to go over. With all the increases in taxes on Americans and the spending cuts we're about to face, the last thing they need to be thinking about is how well they want to reward all the foreigners who come and are here illegally.

Agreed and they had better start working on the job crisis in our county which is being directly impacted by illegal immigrant labor in our country.

Yes its more of the democrats rhetoric to demonize Republicans, and to make it seem like they are against all (Legal) immigrants .

"High tech social security card?" Does that mean that law abiding American citizens will be forced to get new social security cards? So we'll have to bothered with this nonsense just so the politicians can pander to Mexican nationals? How is that fair to millions of law abiding Americans? Why should we be forced to jump through hoops with old documents we already hve? And how are people with work permits going to be forced back to the end of the line? Who's going to certify that these people understand English? Are we going to be forced to pay for all of this? Will there be taxpayer provided English lessons for people too cheap and dumb to be bothered learning English after immigrating here voluntarily?

Watch. The whole thing won't be about punishing illegals who have voluntarily broken our laws. Illegals won't be penalized. They won't be sent home. They sure as hell won't be forced to learn English, fined for breaking our laws or suffer any consequences. It will be about shoving Spanish down our throats and forcing Americans to pay the bills for Mexico's low skilled, overbreeding underclass.

Nice to see where Schumer's priorities are. His home state just suffered a huge problem after Hurricane Sandy. I know people on LI who are still without power. But hey why would a Staten Island taxpayer's needs matter when there are Mexicans to be pandered to?

Because American taxpayers don't matter. Making Manhattan better able to stand up to hurricanes does not matter. Confronting global warming, increasing wages for the working class, improving NYC's infrastructure do not matter.

No.

Only Mexicans matter to our American elected representatives. Especially the ones who represent a state thousands of miles from the Mexican border!

I wander how the Op can even say that when it was Bush who proposed the last immagratio reform. Its was under reagan that the one before that passed .Someone needs to look at why people objected to more. because fo what the lst contimigamnsety was said to do >it was to solve the problem and no othe amnsty needed. it didn't wortk and even Democrats voted no on the Bush proposal.

Watch, they won't be required to do a damn thing but apply for amnesty. Just like Dreamies applied for DACA and were "approved" with lightning speed.

I think we all know our government will not secure our borders. What a joke. And again, no one will be held accountable.

Illegals will not be required to learn English, because that will be considered racism and discrimination. Plus, language wouldn't become a requirement until they apply for citizenship. If they choose not to apply, they will never be required to learn English. For others, they'll wait until they can use age to exempt the language requirement. Let's not forget, illegals are adept at circumventing the law.

They will pay no back taxes or penalties. Their "punishment" will be a nominal processing fee, most likely no more than $500. After all, anything higher might create a hardship, and we certainly can't have that. But, they somehow manage to send billions back home on a monthly basis. No hardship there.

They will not be prosecuted for ID theft and fraud, while countless citizens convicted of the same offenses are serving time in prison. Nor will their victims be allowed to press charges against them despite having their credit ruined, reputations destroyed, and spending years in emotional turmoil while trying to reclaim their lives.

They certainly won't be required to get in the "back of the line" behind those going through legal channels. Illegals are already here. They have skipped the line.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform is nothing but another blanket amnesty with no "enforced" requirements whatsoever. Mark my words.

And all illegals will be instantly eligible for access to our welfare system. So they'll get $500 a month in food stamps, public housing, Spanish interpreters, a driver's license, "free" medical care and a check for thousands of dollars each year from the US treasury from the earned income tax credit.

And what will non-hispanic Americans get it in turn? The bill to pay for it all!

And of course lectures from racist Latino leaders about how we'd better learn Spanish to make life easier for our new "Americans." Or else we're lazy, monolingual racists just like our awful ancestors. They'll probably even demand we pass a law stating that any new immigrant here must be fluent in another language -- Spanish of course!

Does Schumer even know what's going on NYC? Or is he too busy hispandering to give about a damn about the real people he was elected to represent?
