i understand the laws against attacking police officers, and i dont condone it. but it does not change the fact that people DO attack police officers, and they have their various reasons for doing so. it is up to you whether or not you want to have any deeper understanding of the situation, in order to help dissuade the trend. it just seems that blaming the perpatrators is going to do little to change anything. and i stand by what i said; police officers all understand that their jobs come with risks, including being shot at. you cant pay a high school graduate $40k/year for nothing...

And by doing things such as attacking police officers, the illegals are a making their own situation increasingly desperate as more and more Americans are no longer willing to put up with their crap.
but not all illegals are attacking police. and some citizens are attacking police. you cannot accurately generalize assault on police as a universal problem with illegal immigrants. its the generalizations you make, and the ommission of citizen assaults against police, that steer the attitude of your post in a very xenophobic direction.

if you want to make a case against the universal illegal immigrant populace, do it logically. intelligent people will see right through your tactics every time.

I agree, our system has become dangerous and really forces criminals to become more brutal. The only solution is to do away with laws. That way, criminals would no longer need to shoot cops to avoid prison, they could just shoot citizens and take their time robbing them since it would be legal. I like that system...

our laws are not perfect. this is evidenced by prior repeals. if the laws dont work, they will show you that they dont work. prohibition was overturned, slavery was abolished, and hopefully, the war on drugs will be recognized for the failure that it is. it is this same logic that tells us that people NOT threatened with deportation and not coerced into having an "illegal" status are going to be less likely to engage in confrontation with law enforcement.

These people are not a large group of immigrants, as you put it, they are ILLEGAL ALIENS!
illegal is just an adjective. the noun is still immigrant. if you want to distinguish between all types of general immigrants, be sure to include height, weight, religion, country of origin, etc. etc... otherwise, quit arguing semantics.

AND police officers should know that the risk of being shot is part of their job???? If the illegal SOB hadn't been in this country he wouldn't have been able to shoot the officer!
that doesnt change the risk of a police officer being shot at. citizens still do it too.

And I know you'll say it's not just illegals that shoot people. BUT, the point is, if illegals weren't here they wouldn't have the opportunity to shoot at our police officers in the first place! Simply unbelievable.

so why dont we kick everybody out besides the police, so they have NO risk of being shot at? brilliant!

blame is a reactive gesture. if you change the laws, you create proactivity. proactivity is what will be the biggest aid in deterring shooting before they happen.

We can't just change laws because the criminals don't like them or are desperate. We have our own legal American criminals to deal with. We don't need desperate, dangerous criminals from Mexico.

anyone that has the nerve to shoot an officer is probably a bad guy, whether they're breaking the law or not. If he wasn't an illegal alien then he wouldn't have to shoot the officer? Come on you got something better than that

you can change the laws for the benefit of law enforcement, if you want to look at it that way.

Why do people keep posting threads like this, is it to throw more dirt on illegals? Police officers are mostly shot be legal citizens.. you guys act like illegals are the only people who shoot cops. Yes, this could have been prevented if this particular person wasn't in the U.S but sadly he was shot.
