The Marietta Daily Journal - Illegal Immigration
Quote:
Those seeking stronger enforcement of this country’s laws against illegal immigration — which needless to say is long overdue — can take heart from a decision this week by U.S. District Judge Tom Thrash in Atlanta and, prior to that, a decision by the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Thrash cleared the way for Georgia law enforcement authorities to begin checking the immigration status of criminal suspects who fail to produce proper identification.
If one is booked or jailed, LEO can run status checks.

Georgia had an injunction on it, now the 11th Circuit has remanded it back to the District Judge who removed the injunction.

Pretty much, now nation-wide, LEO can check status of all persons booked or jailed. Opponents of the law like to call this the “show me your papers” statute in an effort to make opponents sound like the Gestapo

No more lawsuits should happen from advocates over the ability of LEO and the determining of status of a person.
