No one, as you say, is likely to admit to this. It thus becomes our ongoing task to separate the very legitimate legal and social issues from the "racist" ones, and to have the strength of mind to persevere in the matter, despite the fact that racists may "go along for the ride" with you.
You have a good point macmeal - some of my longtime hispanic friends are starting to get 'looks' and feel a bit of heat over what the illegals are doing. That is not fair - however when any group of any race decides they are above obeying any laws and then make demands if they are asked to do so, well, other groups are going to get angry.

They (the THEM) are citizens of other countries. It is not up to us to decide what is best for them, nor should it be. That is the responsibility of their home countries.

andreabeth - I think the world needs more like you and others who actually support following laws and not giving one group special treatment over another.

if you support following laws, you should have no problem with legal "anchor babies".

The anchor baby can stay legally, but why would the parent insist on this if they themselves are deported? Wouldn't you take your child home with you when the "party's over"? Who (besides koo-koo Elvira Arelana) would leave their kids behind?

What are the ethics of someone who uses or creates a baby in order to freeload off others? Then instead of being grateful and humble they bite the hand that feeds them.

Again, you embrace the laws you like and cry foul at the ones you don't.

so rather than the parent raise the kid, you would deport them, in order to uphold the law, and put the kid in foster care, which we end up paying for anyway?
