As someone born and raised in Oakland, I'd say the city has more pressing issues than trying to establish these ID cards. We're still amongst the "most dangerous" cities in the state (if not nation), we're still having unthinkably high homicide rates, we still have underfed, under-resourced children here, and we still hold the honor of having the worst school district in the state. If Oakland is in no shape to help its American citizens, I'm afraid its arms are too short to extend a hand to non-citizens.
I bet they won't bother carry theses cards with them while driving a car. They already have the benefit of giving an officer a bogus name and address when be issued a citation for driving without a license. That's what happened to me when I was hit by an illegal. While writing him the citation ( after he plowed into me ), the cop didn't even get the guys home address. I know this because I obtained a copy of the report. So how are you going mail someone a citation if you DON"T GET THEIR ADDRESS!
These illegals know perfectly how to scam the system. It's a sham how if any obvious US citizen were to try and pull the same shenanigans my guess is they would be hauled to jail and fingerprinted. It's as if we have two different standards for laws, one's for illegals and ones for citizens.
So they'll use these cards when it benefits them and leave them at home when they decide to get behind the wheel.
