Owner Pleads Guilty in Immigration Bust

Lawn Company Owner Pleads Guilty to Harboring Illegal Immigrants

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- A Grand Island lawn care company owner has pleaded guilty to harboring illegal immigrants and manipulating financial transactions to avoid reporting them.
David Wortman turned himself in for arrest last month, one day after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement raided Cloudburst Lawn and Sprinkler and arrested 19 suspected illegal immigrants.

The criminal complaint in U.S. District Court in Nebraska accused Wortman of knowingly hiring the illegal workers and paying them in cash to work for Cloudburst Lawn and Sprinkler.

We need these stories every day!

Same reason why plantation owners chose "slaves" to work the fields in the old South rather than pay even the crap wages "free" whites worked for:

Pesos y centavos.

Exactly. Now, a lot of businesses will go out of Business (if all the states start cracking down) therefore probably increasing the demand for lawn care Businesses bringing the wages back up.

Its a step in the right direction. Eliminate the jobs, eliminate the housing and the illegals will be forced to go home.

You think the upper class kids and citizens would want to waste their time mowing their own lawn while they can get someone to do it for like $10? I don't know of any Legal American company that would do that for $10.

Oh well--------that is directed to the 'upper class' folks who may actually have to get their hands dirty for once.

Or; said folks will have to downsize their wasteful lifestyles to afford legal groundskeepers, etc.
