But they ARE full U.S. citizens, not just U.S. Nationals...

You can still say that even after Liquid Reigns posted some very compelling evidence that that has never been determined by the Supreme Court along with the qualifying clause "AND" subject to the jurisdiction, etc? I also posted some very compelling links about this subject.

Illegals or non-US citizens legally in the US who give birth to a child in the US should NOT be considered an American nor given the passport. One parent should be an American citizen who is a taxpayer in order for a passport to be issued to a child in the US.

All of the respondents on this site think that the congressmen are bigoted. I wish that they'd step back and ask themselves if it's right for illegals of any race (even 100%white) to come to this country, drop a baby and then expect the baby to be an "automatic American".
I had to laugh at all the lame comments and rhetoric. Race card throwing, actually thinking that it is unconstitutional to amend the constitution (not that it is even needed in this case). What a bunch of anti-American, self-centered whiners.

I would support what some countries have..that one parent must be a citizen in order for the child to be a citizen.

It's just not "very compelling" when someone can read to determine otherwise...

And why place of birth? If life and personhood begins at conception then surely citizenship should be based on place conceived.
In far to many cases the child was conceived in another country and the parent entered the US illegally to give birth for the prime purpose of getting the passport.

If born in the US and neither parent is a US citizen, then that child is not a US citizen. He would be citizen of the country that the parents are citizens of. In the case of chldren born to illegals, the American taxpayer is punished because they are the ones who have to foot the medical bill for that birth and then the government entitlements that the baby will be enrolled for from birth until they are 18.

Americans or expats living in a foreign country and give birth to a child do not get a passport for their child. The US has to start making that a law that both or one parent is a US citizen.

If Americans give birth to a child in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Mexico, and just about any other country, would that child be a citizen of said country by virtue of being born there and given a passport? NO!!! That child would be a citizen if one parent was a citizen of said country.

Or if one has an agenda and fails to comprehend the truth. I never read such clueless comments in my entire life. Claims that it would only affect "brown" people among other idiotic hate-filled comments.

Regardless of what they are or are not, they should NOT be U.S. citizens. This is one of the biggest incentives for illegal immigration. What woman in her right mind would risk swimming the Rio Grande while pregnant, let alone IN LABOR, or trek across a sweltering desert? Clearly, they are lured by freebies and lifelong welfare, subsidized housing, etc. They certainly can't care about their unborn baby. I guess they believe if their baby dies during their journey, as long as they cross the border, they will at least be here to give birth to another. It's sickening.
