TB-tainted man crosses border 76 times

A Mexican national infected with a highly contagious form of tuberculosis crossed the U.S. border 76 times and took multiple domestic flights in the last year, according to Customs and Border Protection interviews and documents obtained by The Washington Times.

The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency was warned by health officials on April 16 that the frequent traveler was infected, but it took the Homeland Security officials more than six weeks to issue a May 31 alert to warn its own border inspectors, according to Homeland Security sources who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of retribution. Homeland Security took one more week to tell its own Transportation Security Agency.

Are you sick of your tax dollars paying for Homeland Security when they do not protect our borders and then knowingly let American citazins be exposed to disease!!!

Can you please stop with these non-sense, cheap political point threads? You've posted several these past couple of days. What exactly are you trying to tell us? Illegal Immigration? The dangers of TB? Homeland security. Spare us. If your going to talk about tax paying you should ask us Californians who contribute most of the taxes that the U.S uses.

Can you please stop being so hateful against anyone that wants the laws of the country followed? CA also contributes the most idiots and idiotic laws to the country too. Does that make them something to be revered? Hell no!!!!!

Excuse me but I don't recall saying that I don't want the laws of this country followed. I'm just tired of reading threads flaming illegals to make cheap political points. And by CA laws do you mean by State laws?

You mean like the pro-illegal crowd that likes to use sob stories to try and make us feel sorry for them? Get over it.

I feel that my opposition on threads like these is needed . And I don't care about sob stories. But exploiting the faults of illegals is truly sick and exploitive.

Well, I don't feel sick or exploitive. I feel like I am standing up for my rights and for the future of my family and this great nation.

The original post of this thread illustrates perfectly one of the problems with illegal immigration -- no documentation, no accountability. I wonder how long it took to find this guy?

Homeland Security should have done better. Six weeks is a disgraceful response time. But imagine all of the people this man had the potential to infect.
