Maybe you should spend some more time in the regular forum on this subject, which has been debated ad nauseum.

Canada's system doesn't suck. Plenty of Americans jet off to third world countries for surgeries because they're locked out of our own "healthcare system."

I believe there was a thread about how Canadas healthcare isn't very good and that they come to the U.S to receive treatment. If I paid taxes, I wouldn't want to pay for someone else's crap.

Does anyone have easier to read tax rate statistics on countries that have socialized medicine?

Quote:
The European Union is, taken as a whole, a high tax area. In 2005, the last year for which detailed
data are available, the overall tax ratio, i.e. the ratio between total tax revenues and GDP, in the 27
Member States (EU-27) amounted to 39.6 % (in the weighted average; see Table 1); this value is
about 13 percentage points above those recorded in the United States and Japan. The EU ratio is
high not only compared with these two countries but in general; amongst the non-European OECD
members, only New Zealand has a ratio that exceeds 35 per cent of GDP1

The response would be inaccurate. Canada has steep taxes established and administered by each province, on top of the national taxes. Also, their sales tax tends to be quite high.

Back to topic, whether you like her or not, Hillary is sensitive to the sentiments of providing benefits such as this to illegal aliens, and has addressed this as part of her proposal. Seems like practically all of the posters agree with this as appropriately excluding illegals

That's exactly how I feel about being forced to pay for health care for illegals.
And I do pay taxes.

Well, my best friend (native Ontarian) has had THREE major surgeries this year, complete with pre- and post-op visits, as well as having been anaemic her entire life. She's never once complained about their healthcare. God, I wish people would just shut the **** up about Canada. If we had universal healthcare, it would be OURS!!! NOT CANADA'S!!! So comparing the two is FUTILE!

*takes deep breath* Please return to your regularly scheduled, imbecilic, pig-headed, stubborn debate.
