Lucknow, what happens when illegals have kids there? Are they granted automatic birthright citizenship? Can they access welfare programs through their Canadian-born children?

His decision was not unique. “Poles have been crossing the Canadian border illegally for many years but the “traffic” definitely intensified since Canada lifted visa requirements for Poland, making it easy for its citizens to enter the country,” said Jerzy Sokol, an immigration attorney who serves Poles in the New York area.
“Another factor that makes Poles choose the Canadian border is intensified security over the Mexican border,” Sokol added. In recent months Sokol has been working with a couple of clients who were caught by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents in upstate New York.

Great, now the xenophobic immigrant haters, won't be happy with just making us build a 2,000 mile long wall along the Mexican Boarder. They will want us to build another 5,500 mile long wall along the Canadian boarder as well. This will make the Great Wall of China look like nothing.

In theory the parents of children who like in the USA are Canadians by birthright could use the Canadian social safety net. However, it's unlikely to happen because you can only exist in Canada as an illegal if the government does not know of your existence. Once that is known then the deportation process begins. We have few illegals in this country and the ones there are don't wish to be uncovered for obvious reasons.

In Canada we have a different kind of problem in this entire issue. Most people who are here "Illegally" have some kind of status. They are here in Canada as refugee claimants or on a visitors visa. This is the by far most common scenario of non Canadians having a child here in Canada. Having this child can increase the chances of staying here but it's far from a guarantee.

We have an interesting thing that is going on right now in regard to this visitor giving birth in Canada file.
Since the Chinese middle class is growing to such great numbers, there are many Chinese families that would like to have more than the state allowed one child. If they have more than one in China they face massive fines, loss of jobs etc. We have had many Pregnant Chinese ladies who come to Canada early in their pregnancy, {Not showing} on a visitors visa. They give birth here and obtain a Canadian passport for the child. They then return to China. There are a few travel agencies in Vancouver that specialize in this business. The ladies pay between $30,000 to $40,000 for the whole package. Travel, accomodation and the medical costs. Now, talk about hedging your bets! They face no problems from the state when they return home with this "Canadian" child. This child can move to Canada whenever they want to and what these parents will do is, when the child reaches University age, they will send the kid to University in Canada and Pay Canadian Tuition which is extremely low for Canadians which these kids are. After the kid graduates they can choose to stay here, get a job and SPONSOR their parents as immigrants and be almost 100% sure the parents will be accepted as immigrants. It's win, win win for them all around.

If only the U.S. would adopt these Canadian policies. It would be pure heaven.

Just when I thought that your country was doing it right Why is the concept of "anchor babies" so widely accepted?

It's pretty fun to be an illegal in the USA -- the White House is promising them a quick citizenship -- much quicker than those coming here legally could ever get. All they have to do is get here one way or another, felony document fraud is overlooked when it's illegals committing identity theft crimes. Illegals already can get to the head of the financial aid lines. There is almost no enforcement of the immigration laws of this country - and we have more legal immigrants by far than any other nation.

Do you think the fact that there is no effort being made to apprehend illegal immigrants at the Canadian Boarder could have something to do with that? Here is a hint for you. Nobody, and I mean nobody cares if white people illegally enter the US.

The US - Canada Border. Nothing but a sign telling you to report to Immigration and Customs when you get a chance, if you get a chance.
