"I hope no one uses the term 'illegal immigrants' here today," said Committee Ranking Member John Conyers of Michigan. "Our citizens are not illeg—the people in this country are not illegal. They are out of status. They're new Americans that are immigrants, and I think we can forge a path to citizenship that will be able to pass muster."
Top Democrat on Judiciary panel asks members not to say

How can we trust our politicians to debate this issue in earnest, if they refuse to even acknowledge the illegal status of violators? No, illegal aliens are not citizens, and the vast majority are not simply "out of status." Anyone who enters this country illegally was never "in status" to begin with.

Referring to people who willfully violated our immigration laws as "citizens" is a direct slap in the face of every legal immigrant who played by the rules, but has yet to gain citizenship status. This is also the reason our laws aren't being enforced, why millions more will enter illegally, and precisely why the issue of illegal immigration will never be resolved.

The political correctness and pandering is saddening. We're basically handing our country on a silver platter to a bunch of foreign interlopers who have no right to be here.

They're also supposed to claim the border is secure which is far from the truth.

How can a border be secure when the crime of crossing over it illegally is being completely ignored -- not just ignored but rewarded?
