Sure..all these Dreamies are going to college so they can get good jobs picking crops because those are the jobs no Americans want. AG has been for many years a source for migrant worker jobs...you know, those people that came, picked and then went home to their own countries til next season.

Yeah right....

Alter or not enforce. Two different things.

If they've made it into law enforcement or education, then how can they be illegal aliens? They are legal immigrants who sought to be here legally. How are they taking away jobs of Americans? By doing better than Americans?

Nice that you don't link to anything that says this.

Sure look like identity theft.

And he's now allowed to be here because of a law. I'm sorry that you don't like our laws. Maybe you should talk to your congress critter about changing the law.

I've often wondered, about a slightly different scenario:

An adult man crosses the border illegally, and lives here. He marries someone, say another illegal alien. They have kids here. The kids are U.S. citizens under the current interpretation of the 14th amendment, since they were born on U.S. soil.

Then the man (and maybe his wife) get busted by ICE, proven to be illegal aliens (which they in fact are), and get listed for deportation.

What happens to the kids?

The kids are U.S. citizens, no doubt about it. ICE has no grounds whatever for deporting them. But the parents are unquestionable illegal aliens, and the law is clear, the parents must be deported. Must the family be broken up? Who says so?

I've hear some people protest that it's inhuman for ICE to separate the kids (who are, say, 3 and 4 years old by now) from their parents. But is it ICE who is actually doing that?

This man knew before he ever came here, that he was breaking U.S. law, and was subject to deportation if caught. And his wife, if she is also an illegal alien, knew the same about herself. And when they were making kids here on U.S. soil and delivering them, they knew the same was still true.

It's not ICE who is planning to split up this family. It is the man and his wife, knowing that he and she might be booted out at any time for breaking U.S. immigration law, and that any kids they produced while living illegally in America, would be citizens NOT subject to deporation. They knew all these things going in. And one must assume they planned for them. (If they didn't plan, whose fault is that?)

So, what did this man and his wife plan would happen to their U.S. kids if and when they (the parents) got busted and deported? What plans did they make about what should happen to the kids? The kids are 3 and 4 years old now. They are U.S. citizens and have the legal right to stay in this country. And they also have the legal right to go with their parents back to the parents' home country.

The parents knew going in, that their own deportation was possible and legal... and even just. WHAT DID THEY PLAN FOR THEIR KIDS if that were to happen to them?

Where does anyone get the idea that the government is responsible for the kids?

The parents are responsible for their kids. What have they planned?

Hilarious! Only 3% of illegal immigrants are working in the ag industry. What are the other 97% doing? For ag workers there are unlimited H-2A visas but many growers would rather hire illegal immigrants instead to increase their profits while passing their social costs on to we the taxpayer. I can't believe there are still so many clueless people using the crop picking argument to justify the presence of illegals in our country.

It appears as though it will be a long wait.

Please explain how the President has the authority to dictate which laws will be enforced and which will not.

No. The kid should not have been given a SS number nor a drivers license. He is illegal plain and simple anyway you slice it. He and his parents cheated the system and crossed the border without going through the naturalization process..............ever. They should have abided by our immigration laws and done the right thing. They should have done it 'The American Way' and not 'The Illegal Way. The guy should be deported immediately and his parents should be detained and sent packing across the border like President Eisenhower's 'Operation Wetb*ck' made illegals do when he was president. 'Operation Wetb*ck' led by one of Ike's generals struck fear in the illegals and they scurried back to Mexico. Zero tolerance should be the issue here. If you are illegal in any way, you should be deported. These type Mexicans are exploiting and taking advantage of our sovereignty.

So which is it? Has Obama altered the law or is he not enforcing it? You seem to be confused which is really not surprising.

He is allowed to be here whether you like it or not. It's allowing him the time to BECOME legal, something that would be difficult for him to do if he was forced back to a country he's never seen since he was a child.

How would you like to be deported back to say Chile, if you were brought here by your parents at age 2? You know nothing about Chile, don't speak the language, don't even care about the politics of Chile, but you've contributed to American civilization by going to college and working, have friends and volunteer from time to time.
NO, DACA is not allowing him time to become legal. WAFM DACA still does not allow him to apply for a change of status, nor for a visa. Unless he has an order of deportation against him, he is stuck in limbo, is still an illegal, and can be deported for any reason what so ever if detained by ICE.

People move and go to different countries all the time. I have lived abroad for several years. So I say, boo hoo to your BS. So the child in your scenario doesn't talk to its parents? Most children are actually bilingual, that alone shows your scenario BS. Going to college and working contributes to American civilization? So your 2 YO who went to public school costing roughly $9K per year has already paid that $100K back in taxes? Hell, its parents haven't even paid that much in property taxes.
