If you really want to limit illegal immigration we need to make it much harder to get a student or tourist VISA to America because about forty percent of illegal aliens are VISA OVERSTAYS. Why doesn't anyone talk about this and only talk about security at our southern border?

I wish they would make it harder. Apparently our politicians are laying out the red carpet and giving them VIP treatment.

Our government needs to have a better system of tracking visa holders. I don't know what you mean that no one talks about the visa overstayers when that has been discussed in here many times and many of them are from south of our border. Securing our borders should be a priority because criminals and those from know terrorist countries are getting through also not to mention the drug cartels.

I think we should analyze the overstayers to see which countries of origin are responsible for 90-95% of them, then tighten visa restrictions for people from those countries.

We should also track people on non-immigrant visas at ports of entry and departure, sync up departures with their visas, and if they overstay....issue an immediate deportation order. Round 'em up and throw 'em out.

Good ideas.

That makes perfect sense; probably why it isn't being done.

We need to bio metrically identify every alien in our country. Then if they change their name 27 times and use fake Ids it will only take one simple computer check to find out who they really are so they can be held accountable.. Accountability is the keyword and illegal aliens want no part of that.

The Border Crossing Card has been updated and combined with the B1 / B2 ("Tourist" and "Business") visas (which were an imprint in the passport before) for Mexican Nationals:

Note this is only for Mexicans, as they are the only nationality qualified for a Border Crossing Card. Card issue typically requires ownership of property or assets in Mexico, and the interviews at U.S. Consulates decline most applicants.

Since the discussion identified "foreign people", there should be little resistance to also putting the same restrictions on Canada and other Visa Waiver Program countries. That will halt most international tourism rather quickly. Keep those bad-intentioned foreigners out!

Is this someone you know or a sample card? No one has a problem with good-intentioned foreigners and yes keep those bad-intentioned ones out. For once we agree.

Like there would be someone with the Spanish surname "Viajera de la Frontiera"...

I'm glad we agree that the Visa Waiver Program needs to be terminated immediately. Every visitor to the United States needs to have the equivalent of that card, with the same financial criteria and petitioning process. You've identified the primary reason for doing so:

How many of the twenty "9/11 Hijackers" came from Mexican origins or through a Port of Entry on the southern border after all? Criminals can come from any country. What convinced you of that rational stance towards all of the other Port of Entries, borders, and tourists of other nationalities that aren't Hispanic?
