No one told them to enter the country illegally. Personally I don't think we should be wasting time issuing illegals drivers licenses.

Good

They could have re-worded it a little better. Something like legal worker.

Since this type of license is for the DACA recipients only I don't understand why this Cara person who says she is here legally and she says she has a green card and working towards becoming a citizen how this would affect her. She'd have a regular DL wouldn't she?

Making the temporary license pink is a great idea. It keeps them from trying to use them like legal citizens do.

Take it or leave it. Illegal immigrants don't and shouldn't have a voice here.

Here in North Carolina we already have millions of illegals. I am very happy with our governor making sure that these temporary illegal alien drivers license look different with the pink on them. You see a few of them might just try to past the special license off as ID like it was just as good as our regular citizen license,,, They not the same The license just lets them drive ,it dont make them have all of the same rights we do....gezz

The latest DHS report (2011) estimates North Carolina to be the eighth state on the list having the highest illegal alien populations: http://www.dhs.gov/xlibrary/assets/s...ll_pe_2011.pdf

For 2011 it was said to be 400,000 (not even half a million in contrast to your count), 3% of the illegal aliens in the United States. That number is up since 2000, which was reported as 260,000 (but the same percent on the national total), gaining about 10,000 per year.

Realizing that whether it is marked or not, it is the same driver's license, providing the "same rights"...

Cara Reed is an idiot, this license does not pertain to her. As an LPR she would have the normal DL from that state.

There is a mistake from the author of the article: they will be allowed to stay legally on a work permit for up to two years. Should read they will be allowed to stay lawfully for up to two years. The work permit has nothing to do with their lawful status.

There should be an argument to say NO LEGAL STATUS instead of NO LAWFUL STATUS since they do have a lawful status if granted DACA deferral.
