Beto is as open-borders of a politician as you can get. And he's very pro-drugs. I would be highly suspicious of what connections he might have "follow the money", and Beto comes from big border money, because the whole reason Ciudad Juarez was so lucrative for the cartels was because El Paso is filled with corruption. The drugs that leave Juarez go right on into El Paso where the polticians aren't exactly clean and there is a lot of big money to be made.

Beto: you are a fool AND an insult to my Irish heritage. Sheesh!

It needs to be tighter control of the border with Mexico, NOT less control.

Thank you from my Italian heritage. This is the problem we face, too many are allowing this crap to happen.

Things will never get better, with the way so many think.

In February 2011, the Government Accountability Office reported that Border Patrol only had “operational control” of 44 percent of southern border. O’Rourke was referring to the Department of Homeland Security currently using “apprehensions” as opposed to “operational control” to measure border security.
Seems to be the crux of his argument, more a lack of actual intelligence on his behalf and attempting to blur the argument for his own outcome, CIR.

No additional enforcment? That means it's pretty much zero and will stay zero.

Most illegals are not crawling through the desert or swiming over the river. They simply rent border crossing cards from cartel-connected smugglers who have piles of stolen documents and come through the legal ports of entry.

Absolutely nothing is done about this. These become the "visa overstays" and once inside the USA, nothing at all will be done about sending them home.

If you are saying border enforcement is "pretty much zero", you are being evasive for some ulterior motive...

As you and I both know, the most common way over the border now is by using a "rented" border crossing card, easily obtained on the streets of any border town - Mexican side. The vendors will even help you pick out the one you most resemble, and suggest changing the way you comb your hair to better resemble the picture.

Then once the illegals are over the border, the cards are picked up to be re-used over and over and over.

Sure there may be a border agent driving around near the border in case he can spot some illegals climbing over the fence, and if there isn't a train passing through, he might spot some illegals coming through.

That is about the only way illegals can now be apprehended. They have to be caught in the act of coming over the border. Once they get a few yards from the border itself, they're home free. No agent will stop and question anyone now because that would be called racial profiling.

Same goes for those who used the rented border crossing cards, they make it past that Whataburger in El Paso and there will never be questioned or asked for their documents.

This is one reason apprehensions are down and the clowns running things are claiming no one is crossing illegally anymore. They aren't looking for them except out in the desert and why would illegals do that? It's much more comfortable to cross through the legal ports of entry. Not very expensive either.

And there is absolutely nothing at all being done about those who break the terms of their visas including their border crossing cards. If they feel like never going back, they simply never go back and demand their rights.

You're patronizing me within your first sentence. Don't include me in any of your inventions, I know better than to believe you. What I don't know is your motivations to trivialize Border Patrol agents and the other professionals staffing our borders:
