That works out to about $30k-ish a year saved per person. 754 million dollars a year in overtime and 1 day of work a month per person. LAst figure I could find was from 2009 and it was 20,200 employess. As you can see on the handy chart, Gs 5 border agents don't make a heck of lot to start with. http://www.opm.gov/policy-data-overs...eral-schedule/
Well all Obama has been doing is handing out legal status to those who are breaking the laws to be here illegally and promising them a very massive amnesty with the quick path to citizenship and promising all kinds of rewards to any foreigner that is willing to break this country's laws. Even felony docucment fraud and identification theft is being reclassified as a teeny insignificant crime if it's a foreigner commiting it.
No point in just having border agents sitting there counting and greeting the illegals as they walk past them. They have not been able to apprehend the illegals for some time now, Obama has decreed that people from foreign countries aren't expected to respect our country's immigration laws.
And most illegals aren't hiking through the desert any more anyhow. They can simply buy a $149 legal border crossing card aka laser visa (IBMuseum doesn't like to hear them called shopping visas) or rent one from a street dealer for a little more and come through the legal ports of entry where customs agents simply wave them on throught.
