They're breaking the law. Period, end of story. They have no right to be here. What part of that is confusing to you?

Again with the invasion axiom, how is it an invasion when our government allowed them to enter and our companies hire them, our banks give them loans, our auto dealerships allow them to buy a car? If more elements of our country allow them to live here, then is that really an invasion?
Yes, it is.

Congress... 535 reasons to support term limits with NO benefits and NO grandfathering tenure. Send congress home with the illegals. Let's get some honest citizens in DC.

Yes it is "We the People" of the US who elected politicians to protect us and our borders have let us down. And those who hire illegals are as guilty, if not more so because they create the desire in illegals to break our laws. They should all be prosecuted and serve time in jail. I'm all for banishing the employers and deporting the illegals after both have served jail time. As for the elected official who continue to stab us in the back, Wellllll. We have to vote in new officials that will take care of things here the way they should.

I would not want tax money to go to jailing illegals. They should be deported.

The problem was they were being deported and then trying again in a day or two. By giving them jail time it was hoped that the punishment would discourage them from trying.

It may also scare some illegals from trying to get across the border because they will face prison time if caught.

Is this worth the time, effort and cost. Would you want your taxes to pay for all the prison beds that will be required as this program moves into New Mexico and Arizona.
It sounds good to me, Just so they deport them when they get out of jail.

They will stop at nothing to keep them coming here. Not even Border Patrol agents with AK's (if it indeed came to that). It costs more money to keep them in jail than to keep on deporting them. In jail they are less productive, they have free meals-- and you guys are complaining about them eating up tax dollars? Why would you want them in jail if this is the case?! MOD CUT

So it is ok that tax money goes for food, shelter, medical, and housing in the private sector?

I also have another question about the original posting, it states that the Federal Govt in Texas...

It has to be one OR the other, either it is the State of Texas govt or the Federal Govt (which would apply to the whole border, not just Texas).
What the OP was talking about is true I saw on TV yesterday in Houston. And it is the Feds going to do this and not Texas.
