No doubt about it, a shameful and cowardly thing to do in a time of crisis (I'm very close to the action here and was evacuated myself briefly---emotions just now are running high).
Perhaps these illegals didn't understand the American culture--if you're going to steal something, at LEAST don't ADMIT IT!.....sheesh!...

Sorry for the humor--suffering a bit from bad air around our house. Truly a frightening few days.....

Maybe they were a bit thirsty and hungry. Truly, I find no "crap" in that logic.

Why isn't the border patrol looking for illegal aliens at the center? At desperate times like this it shows just how critical it is to get these criminals out of the country.

"At desperate times like this it shows just how critical it is to get these criminals out of the country". (above Post)

How critical is it? Why does this issue arouse so much passion? What should our priorities be? Where is the national outrage over "illegal torture" or "illegal wiretaps" ?

The top 1% earns 22% of our national income, the bottom 50% earns 15%. The distribution of our national wealth is the most imbalanced of any industrialized nation; the top 10% owns 74% and the bottom 40% has two-tenths of one percent. The dollar is in the pits and we have mortgaged our national debt to China. No other nation has a greater percentage of its population imprisoned or as high a crime rate. Our infant mortality rate compares to third-world countries.

This (and much more) while the national passion and outrage is misdirected to undocumented workers? Disgusting.

The people the supplies were intended for were hungry and thirsty, too.

From the radio report I heard this morning driving in to work, the reason they were arrested is because they had filled their vans with the blankets, food, and water they took from the shelter and were peddling it outside of Qualcomm. If they were so thirsty and hungry, how did they have the strength to stand by the open doors of their vans to market their loot?

The way the article is written, one cannot determine the type of theft taking place. I can see reading it as personal theft, or a grander level of stealing (loading up a van).

Unlike some posters, I don't view the media as manipulative or part of a grand conspiracy. However, I think that they are often very lazy and sloppy, and incaccurately give impressions due to incomplete reporting.

I've run into that a few times with stories with which I was very familiar.

Everything should be free for the taking! Why should illegals be expected to follow any laws?
