What kind of nonsensical drivel is that? Who are we to say which organizations should or shouldn't exist?

No, they're apathetic, just like white people.
Today groups like the NAACP have betrayed MLK and work only to divide America for their own Socialist gains. Back then Whites were welcome and not all were considered racists. As many Blacks have described it, the NAACP is a group who's relevancy has come and gone so it's leaders are grasping at straws to remain in the headlines.

NAACP Is Founded (1909)

Everyone thinks Marco Rubio is so great.... What is African American unemployment like in Florida?
I don't understand how the NAACP can defend illegal immigrants. Here in the L.A. area and its suburbs where blacks were once the dominant group illegal Mexicans and other Latinos have taken over those neighborhoods and pushed them out. Those who have remained are in constant fear of harrassment and intimidation.

DOL Special Reports - The African-American Labor Force in the Recovery

Look at the bottom line here...unemployment for blacks compared to Hispanics. It speaks volumes.

Well if they're so irrelevant and they're "grasping st straws", then what's the problem? Seems to me that you're getting your wish.

...or not.

I for one don't complain about things that are irrelevant and grasps at straws for survival. I have a life, and many better things to do. If I'm gonna complain about something, it'll damn sure be about something relevant.

And the whole "betrayed MLK" thing is a joke. That's just typical right wing drivel. Again, you guys are only in love with King because he's safely dead.

Romney was the 1st candidate in about 30 years to advocate for self-deportation. Blacks voted against Romney 97-2 if illegals are that much of a threat to Blacks then they should have voted accordingly.

I don't know why folks are concerned about how amnesty will affect Blacks when they themselves don't care.

I don't understand why people try to compare the immigration issues of today to the civil rights issues of the 1960's. They are completely different issues.

Why would you say that? I care that blacks have a high unemployment rate and I am sure many of them do also. Or did you mean that blacks don't care if they are unemployed?

I'll say this about Dr King; he was ahead of his time and it took a while for some of us "white" and other color people to really understand what he was saying about race equality.

I posted this thread about the NAACP since they need to be "called out" for what smacks of treason IMHO against some Americans who happen to be "Black".

No...Dr. King was most definitely not ahead of his time.

The so called "values" he preached about came from the bible. Black Americans got Christianity from white people. We didn't show up here as Christians. So whites knew all along that what was going on was wrong according to their own holy book. Remember, it's THEIR holy book, not ours. So who knew better than them?

And the NAACP isn't committing treason against me or anyone else. That's ridiculous. I'm free to take any stance that i want on illegal immigration regardless of what Ben Jealous espouses.

The NAACP is like NOW where both stood for good causes but now just used to make money to support stupid causes the founders would oppose. Yes illegal immigration hurts black workers because traditionally they were discriminated and took these jobs to survive. Now illegals do them and more of them means less African American workers.
