lol the Mexican kid who was born in this country as an anchor baby and who isn't afraid to work hard? The brown skinned kid who is flipping burgers to pay for college? The child of parents who came here in the trunk of a Chevy but who pledges to OUR flag in school because its HIS flag as much as your's? The daughter of Jerez who is working for her nursing degree? The kid who is living in his parents' home while he gets his Master's degree because hispanic families are close (and his parents home - those "illegals" - is payed for because they don't believe in buying all the crap from Hobby Lobby) and he's saving for a down payment on a home he'll buy when he's 26?

Is that kid superior?

We'll see. But when he's the boss of the kid who grew up thinking "lazy Mexican" because that's what he was taught by his ignorant, prejudiced parents I'd say..... you bet.

And hard work only equates to Mexicans? Why the mention of skin color? WTH has that to do with anything?

All those things you have mentioned except for coming here illegally, all Americans of all stripes have done. What an unbelievable arrogant post!!!

In other words, when the government manages a project, it moves like mud. Funny how private companies can accomplish in a few years what takes the government decades.

Elon Musk and the Falcon 9, for example. Six years from the drawing board to space, and 1/2 the cost of France, India and China's heavy lifters.

I agree; government is the worst performer when it comes to managing projects, and timely "on budget" conclusions. They have too many hands in the pie, and wheels to grease.

Hold on there sluggo, "The child of parents who came here in the trunk of a Chevy but who pledges to OUR flag in school because its HIS flag as much as your's?" Really? This line of thinking is exactly why we are in the mess we are. Either we are a soveriegn country, or not.

You do not believe we are, and THAT is yours (and other liberal progressives) miguided notion.

If they woulda started on it when they planned it then it woulda been done by now.

That's the problem with statists. Make excuses for government failure and believe it will somhow be different this time.

This is about cut throat economics, the history of this country. The country was founded on having a ready supply of cheap or free labor and the need for it proliferates to today.

We have had a certain population of employers and workers, traditionally conservative, white and Southern that has avoided manual labor for the entire history of the country. It continues today.

And I see it every day. A significant amount of southern boys I have hired simply can´t handle working under the sun or doing any physical labor for extended time without quitting or making outrageous demands. One of them even thought they should be a manager at 3months experience. This is the type of person complaining about these illegals taking their jobs. Their baby boomer parents have given them everything with no conditions, so they expect everything with no conditions just the same.

Deporting illegals will only deport the labor elsewhere even more. Some people call that outsourcing. The Southern conservative entitlement group will not work this type of labor after centuries of avoiding it.

To really solve the problem we need to
1) allow more hard laborers to enter (legal status and rights) and
2) remove those who have been deadweight on our economy and refuse manual labor (our favorite Southern US citizens). It should be done properly though by offer incentives to self deport. Free land on uninhabited pacific island, Antartica, etc.
