We spend so much to have things like the TSA and engage in conquests with nations across the ocean...

...Yet we can't control who gets in and stays in the country.

...Other countries are very strict in letting people come to their country, yet we encourage those who disrespect our laws by giving them amnesty.

...This is costing our many of our citizens not only money but jobs and security.

Offer up a reasonable solution and most will listen. Invariably, the "solutions" that come from the right on this issue are on the order of what a five-year old or a below-average six-year old would propose.

A few years ago I read about an idea of having a "digital" fence, where there are night vision cameras along the border with a post that has border patrol monitoring the cameras. The cameras would be mounted on a pole and solar powered with satellite feed. Seemed like a pretty cheap and effective solution to me.

1 drone 5 miles high with infrared vision able to spot heat signatures could cover a lot of ground... oh wait that is reserved for the inland

Now that I think about it, drones would be a good solution to a border without building The Wall of China.
