Yes. And that's why the legislation proposed this past week ... has strong support amongst many GOP U.S. Senators. For the benefit of the Democratic Party.

Naw, fools that these GOP Senators are they think they will sway Hispanics to vote for them rather than the Democrats by going along with shamnesty. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I would like to see a ten year freeze on immigration. Did Boston teach us nothing. It is time to slow down and get the country back in control of normal thinking and law abiding individuals. We have people with no common sense and a lack of judgment running the country. I think a lot of them got into office because of too much amnesty in the past. Doing the same thing all over again in the future will bring us more of what happened in Boston and on the streets of our cities on a daily basis. We don't need the system reformed. We need the laws already on the books before the illegal stuff was added by Obama enforced. Stop America's nightmare.

Calling it reform is ludicrous anyway. Our laws are not being reformed. It is amnesty plain and simple.

"Normal" thinking:

No more amnesty for anybody. Securing the border will slow down the flow of drugs. Do you ever wonder how many of our elected officials are in the drug business. I hope none, but I have wondered.

I think you are entirely lost to what "crime" and "legal" mean...

Yes, it's "reform" and No, it's not "amnesty." But if that's how you see it ... different than how Republican and Democratic senators who've spend more than a decade discussion the matter and attempting to resolve problems see it ... and different than how tens of millions of Americans see it ... fine. Stand in front of a mirror and keep repeting "Amnesty" and you'll find unanimous agreement.

Our immigration laws aren't being reformed. Why aren't you getting that? Instead millions of illegal immigrants will be allowed to remain here regardless of the petty $500 fine and other BS requirements that won't be enforced anyway. As I said under another topic why do you keep focusing on the terminology rather than the meat of the matter? The objection is to allowing them to remain here, period!

Of course our congressmen don't want to call it amnesty because it has a negative connotation to it because in 1986 we were told that would be the last amnesty. Americans remember that and so today they call it "reform" and think they can fool the gullible into believing it. It's amnesty (forgiveness) with a certain criteria that is supposed to be met but it won't be enforced.

If the illegals are allowed to stay here without going through the current legal immigration process, it is amnesty, plain and simple.

Form your own definitions. Fine. Don't, however, think that the majority of others will agree with you. The Republican U.S. Senators co-sponsoring the legislation don't. Either do their Democratic counterprats. And neither does the language of the legislation. Saying something is so doesn't make it "so." The truth will set you free! Enjoy the day.

They were legal immigrants, not sure why they need to be discussed when the bill concerns those who entered the country illegally.
