There is simply no reason for amnesty. Also what is it with this secret GANG of 8? It sounds too Sinister.

I'm glad there is another secret gang to counter the 8.

Well, we have a group of what is essentially right-wing extremists in the U.S. House attacking legislation which they probably haven't even read yet. That's a similar response we've seen from some people here on C-D. "Knee jerk" reactions. Bachmann is about as anti-American as one can get, so her reaction isn't surprising.

Any assertion that the 844-page bill/legislation is the result of some sort of secret conspiracy ... is laughable. Not a remark or thought which intelligent people will spend more than a second thinking about.

The case for immigration reform has been made by the bi-partisan sponsors of the legislation and will be explored during the hearing and debate process. That's how things work in our democratic form of government. We should expect, though, that persons whose purpose it is to damage the USA will attempt to interfere with the resolution of this national security issue. We see the first indication of that through the expressions of the anti-American Congressmen.

I'm sure a group of 6 Republicans will be much more balanced and compromising than a bipartisan group of 4 Democrats and 4 Republicans.

The Illegal Aliens crossing the border today know that once the bill passes they can get that special VISA that will give them temporary protected status even though technically only people who came before 12/31/11 are eligible. They will get some fake documents saying that they had lived in America for years. With 20 million applications from illegals all over America how can a government agency check up on them and do a real investigation?

It doesn't take much reading to get to the $500 joke --- that's right. That's completely ridiculous that illegals will be required to pay no more than $500 to claim their big amnesty reward.

This bill is a complete joke. How about having illegals repay all medical costs, all hospital bills for the births of the children they came here, and denying any talk of amnesty to illegals whose children were provided food stamps and Medicaid? We definitely don't need the slackers.

And why not have a thorough bi-national background check that the illegal pays for? And proof that the illegal did not use a stolen social security number when he worked here?

It's all a joke now. Do you know what a trillion dollars looks like? See here: What does one TRILLION dollars look like? and then visit U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time

Millions of low-skilled, high-birth-rate Mexicans are the least of your worries. They're just a symptom of the slow but steady collapse of America. When that really happens most of them will return to Mexico if America isn't already like Mexico by that time.

Uh; how about NO amnesty of any sort for illegal aliens? That's a compromise I'd be Ok with.

You sound like you WANT the US to do down. Ok; we'll go down but we'll go down FIGHTING and if that means deporting EVERY illegal alien caught.
