The only issue that I have is that they mention that housing these kids will be good for the local economy that there is a profit in the use of children. That's as disgusting as child protection agencies snatching up kids in order to ensure their budgets and jobs. If this is the motivation for taking care of vulnerable kids - then shame on these geeks who under the guise of "what about the poor children" are actually saying...we can make a few bucks doing this.

Sorry, Garcia but we haven't yet tried to stop illegals from coming here other than some border security. As I have often repeated removing all of the incentives to come here including birthright citizenship would get illegal immigration down to a trickle. I guess we shouldn't try that though because it won't stop illegals 100% from coming here?

Under President Obama, border security has been far more effective than under "W" Bush's administration. There's really no disputing that. Having said that, I don't believe in granting a "birthright" to the child of someone who's in the country illegally at the time. Be they someone who overstayed a visa, or an illegal alien for other reasons. But the best way to stop the flow of illegal immigrants is to dry-up the employment opportunities dishonest employers are providing. Nothing will stop the flow quicker than that. As for an attack on children here through no fault of their own ... that's about as anti-Christian and anti-American as a stand someone could take.

Obama has stated his numbers for border deportations are false. There, it's been disputed by your own hero, Obama, take it up with him. Obama uses ATEP when no other President has, so if you add in ATEP to Bush, Obama isn't even close in deportation numbers.
Quote:
THE PRESIDENT: Actually, what happened, if you look at the statistics, two things happened: Number one is, is that there was a much greater emphasis on criminals rather than non-criminals. And there's been a huge shift in terms of enforcement, and that began as soon as I came into office. That change has taken place.

Secondly, the statistics are actually a little deceptive because what we’ve been doing is with the stronger border enforcement we’ve been apprehending folks at the borders and sending them back. That is counted as a deportation, even though they may have only been held for a day or 48 hours, sent back -- that’s counted as a deportation. So we’ve been much more effective on the borders.
Remarks by the President in an "Open for Questions" Roundtable | The White House

This issue comes from situations where a husband and wife from another country, enter the U.S. illegally, and then have one or more babies while they are here. They then get caught by ICE and slated for deportation. The kids they had here, are American citizens as our laws are currently interpreted, and of course the government cannot deport such kids.

Then comes the weirdness: Illegal-alien advocates are demanding, what do "WE" do with those kids?

As mentioned, of course, the government has no power to do anything with those kids... nor should they have. The parents are the ones who will decide what will happen with their own kids, of course, not the government. How could it be otherwise?

Obviously, the choices are (a) the parents take their kids with them when they return to their original country, or (b) the parents leave the kids here, in the country of the kids' citizenship, hopefully with trusted friends, family etc. It's a terrible choice to have to make.

Those parents who entered the country illegally, knew the law called for their deportation, and that it would happen as soon as they were caught. Then, incredibly, they brought children into that world, deliberately and knowingly subjecting those kids to being deprived of either their parents, or the land of their birth and citizenship.

What on Earth possessed those parents, to subject their own children to such a cruel choice? Are these people INHUMAN? How can they do that to their kids?

Now they are stuck with that choice - one they saw coming a long time ago. What are their plans? What did they intend to do with their kids, if/when the law caught up to them as they always knew it might?

The question is not, "What are we going to do with their kids?".

The question is, "What are THEY going to do about THEIR OWN kids?".

And yet since Obama took office he has passed his version of the Dream Act without approval from congress, realeased thousand of so-called low threat offender illegals from detainment back into our society (which some actually were criminals) all in the name of saving money (could have accomplised that goal by releasing low threat American prisoners instead) and instructed HS not to deport any illegals unless they are "convicted" felons. Now we have huge increases recently in entry due to his promise amnesty aka CIR.

At least we agree on the employers and birthright citizenship. IMO, providing an education and other benefits should be denied illegals and their non-citizen kids also. I believe it is the Democrats fighting e-verify though and they would never go along wth denying birthright citizenship to their kids.
