Recall what I suggested, earlier? Well, sometimes it's good to stand in front of a mirror to pay attention to what you see. It can be enlightening. And it can also be ... scary. I'm suggestion what you often post is probably viewed by most readers as ... scary. Believe what you want. The earth is flat, and we'll fall off at some point if we keep moving forward. Or, the sky is always falling. Or evil is everywhere. Maybe those are your beliefs, maybe not. They're certainly not mine ... and not the beliefs of most people. That's my observation.

When I look in the mirror what I am supposed to be seeing? I look scary? Have you ever seem me? Most people wouldn't think so. I think most of the readers in here agree with me. So it is you on the outside looking in. Where did I say anything about the earth being flat, the sky is falling or that evil is everywhere? This is supposed to be a comparison to desiring our immigration laws to be respected and enforced? I think desparation is setting in now along with losing one's cool and bordering on uncivility. If I were you I wouldn't press it.

Those are some of the liberals I was referring to.

The vast majority, of course, are Democrats - something the leftist fanatics don't want to mention.

No one has yet disputed the OP's point: That our present immigration laws would work fine if we just obeyed and enforced them. Since we didn't and still don't, we have major problems.

We need to concentrate our "new immigration law making" on corrrecting the lapses we have made, not on changing the laws we never obeyed in the first place. When things are getting back to where we would have been (we can never get all the way back, deporting 15M illegal aliens cannot be done instantly and will have to be spaced out over decades, many of them leaving on their own as they find jobs and benefits unavailable).

Our immigration laws don't need reform. They would work fine if we only had the huevos to enforce and obey them... and there's the rub. We need to "reform" how we enforce and obey them, not reform the laws themselves.

Liberals no longer care about the environment or wages or jobs for Americans, now they are for very very massive unlimited immigration of a type of people who is a one-party kind of voting block just like they are back home. They intend to bring in many millions and of course promise them all kinds of government handouts and even free college -- it's a very sure way of winning their votes.

Our laws and system do need to be reformed. Our enforcement is spotty and the system is filled with redundancy that serves no valid purpose. Not in the age of computers. Reform is not about free passes and rewards for violating the current laws. Over a million immigrants pass legally through our system a year. The idea that somehow we owe every would be applicant a yes answer is insane. We produce a bumper crop of unskilled labor on our own. Our policies should reflect what the nation needs, not the wish list of every developing nation on the planet.

Count the Speaker of the U.S. House as one of these leftist fanatics, because he's supporting moving forward in the U.S. house with "reform" legislation.

The House reform bill will be different than the Senate Bill, neither will approve the others.

CA wants them to hurry up because they can't afford the welfare payments and want them on Fed money ASAP.

Yes, I've already made the same suggestion. But the focus of the discussion was it was "Leftist fanatics" who say "Our immigration laws need reform." Now we have the Speaker of the House agreeing. Therefore, he must have woken-up today a different man ... a "Leftist fanatic."

The people of California, through elected Republican and Democratic Governors, and through elected Republican and Democratic legislators ... have provided these benefits you complain about illegals receiving (but, yes, also too ... because of some federal programs administered by the state because of Congressional mandate). And while I probably agree with you almosts 100% on the expenditures issues regarding California ... the voters have decided to be generous. Your issue/complaint is with the people of California.
