How can you be against it? don't play the race card, it has been the first and last card in the statist deck, a card you can no longer use.
Because I've seen one beaten in a few seconds at a great loss of taxpayer money based on a false hope of security.

Because it will fragment natural habitats, disrupt migration routes, and threaten biodiversity in extraordinary areas (Sonoran, Chihuahuan Deserts).

Political boundaries are a hassle to the natural world.

the building cost, being aone time cost of about 60 billion, maybe 2 billion a year in maintenance cost.

Keep in mind illegal immigration cost this nation about $150,000,000,000 to $250,000,000,000 a year in total costs of medical care, education, incarceration, lost taxes, wage suppression, social welfare benefits. as

Factor in the human cost being criminal and political in nature.

why the hate? we want the same thing...

Why it took so long for Mexico to wake up!!! Fewer workers available, higher wages!!!
yeah! wow! all at the expenses of the American taxpayer...

How can anyone be against a Border Fence?
When that fence can be used to keep Americans in.

....

The source of the problem is a socialist system that penalizes the productive American and rewards the non-productive American. The cost to hire "documented" Americans is far higher than paying cash for "undocumented" laborers. And thanks to that same tax burden compounded by a devaluing money token, the entry level worker is unlikely to prosper, as did the previous generations.

The whole illegal immigration problem would evaporate if the labor laws and socialist entitlement system were repealed. There would no longer be a financial incentive to hire nonAmericans, and thus cease attracting border jumpers.

Frankly, let's cut the Federal budget by 97% and downsize it.
"The true theory of our Constitution is surely the wisest and best, that the States are independent as to everything within themselves, and united as to everything respecting foreign affairs. Let the General Government be reduced to foreign concerns only, and let our affairs be disentangled from those of all other nations, except as to commerce, which the merchants will manage the better, the more they are left free to manage for themselves, and our General Government may be reduced to a very simple organization, and a very inexpensive one; a few plain duties to be performed by a few servants."

Any fence the guv builds will be a complete boondogle. Better to get rid of the incentives that lure them across the border in the first place, win/win for the taxpayer.

its easier to build a fence, then to get rid of welfare...

and who said the federal government will build the fence? the federal will pay contractors to build it. as they should,

Another conservative hypocrisy.
If you would know anything about Article 1 Section 8 National Defense is one of the few things the federal government can do.

Another uninformed mindless liberal.

Damn! There it is! We can solve the whole illegal immigration problem by just eliminating Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Welfare, Food stamps and insisting on forced abortions for any potential anchor babies.

Problem solved.
