please tell me how can you be against a Border Fence?
How can you be against it? don't play the race card, it has been the first and last card in the statist deck, a card you can no longer use.
I certainly am not opposed to one but my husband is: the reason, he doesn't think it will keep the illegals out. Of course it has nothing to do with the race card in his case. He just doesn't think it will work. He is all for border control. In fact I am not sure he doesn't believe in shooting anyone who tries to enter the country illegally. Well I don't know if he would go that far.
Where? around your house or between Canada and US OR Mexico and US?
Lets assume Mexico, since the race is the same. . .between us and Canada.
1) Fence is ineffective. You aren't talking about Berlin here. You are talking about miles upon miles of land. Any fence can be breached in minutes/hours
2) what are you guarding against - what is effective? A fence to keep out people who want to work? not very effective.
3) expensive. Border fence and maintance is expensive versus the return-on-investment.
To put the wall on the Mexico/US border vs the Canada/US border is NOT because of race- people always bring that up to try to shame the other side in the argument. You put the wall on the border that has lots of people every year crossing illegally- and that just so happens to be the southern border!
Which border? How long a fence? What depth of clear zone next to the fence? What level of patrol along that fence and clear zone? Now calculate the cost and the feasibility of what you want and get back to us.
You could put a US soldier about every 10 feet along the entire US/Mexico border, cost $0 more than we're spending now having them all over the world. How many illegals would try to sneak over the border with armed troops everywhere?
Their only supporters are moron liberal politicians that want their votes. There are of course a few bleeding heart liberals in every day life that support them also. Well, as long as they don't have a 20 mexicans in each house around them playing mariachi music all hours of the day. If these people had to deal with the mass importation of poverty in their own neighborhoods, they would want a border fence too.

yeah they live in gated communities and have armed body guards, funny isn't?
There is no way the Obama administration can claim there is border security when most of the border is unfenced.
Not only that but American identification and laser border crossing cards are sold in the streets of border towns, for $400 to $500, anyone can buy a border crossing card that lets them come through the legal ports of entry. For only $149, they can get their own legal border crossing card and then become "visa overstays".
And what is your criterion for "those who are here to harm us"? Obviously it's not 'people from countries on the State Department terrorism list', as I showed you that won't work. So what is it?
